He had some big rebounding games, but if memory serves a good chunk of those were offensive putbacks of his own shot. He only averaged 5 defensive rebounds a game during the time he played last year. It’s not an area that Zion seems to prioritize given his other responsibilities.

He could be an excellent rebounder if he focussed on it more, I’m not meaning to say otherwise. I just think it’s asking a lot of a guy whose injury prone and accounts for 30 points a game…all from within 2 feet no less

who is going to rebound the basketball?

Its gonna have to be Zion as the primary so he can start the break. He got better and better right before the hammy last year

Last season, we were above average in ORB/DRB/TRB...at 13th in each category. On the defensive end, we were 6th best in ORB allowed...6th in DRB allowed ...and 5th in TRB allowed. And...Zion is our 2nd best rebounder and will hopefully get quite a few more minutes this year which will lead to more overall RBs for our team.

JMO...we plan to run more this year and shoot more 3s...and both of those lead to more offensive rebounds. Throw in Zion shooting a whole bunch of shots "at the rim", which is THE shot that leads to the MOST offensive rebounds %-wise...and I'm not too worried about our overall rebounding.
