I hated turkey and the wolf.

Food was decent but the atmosphere was soooo try hard. I'll take the advice of the owner of Turkey and the Wolf and head to Stein's if I want a sandwich.

Turkey and the Wolf food is amazing. Its your fault if you can't get past the hipster shtick.

Pork and Peppers is the best sandwich I have ever had, anywhere.

I’ll have to check out Turkey and the Wolf, not familiar with that one.

Cochon is one of my favorites in town, just went recently actually. Smoked turkey avocado was bomb

It gets a lot of hate on TD because it is a sandwich place that got voted the Best New Restaurant in the Country, making it one of the most famous restaurants in New Orleans pretty instantly, and their social media is over the top uber obnoxious hipster.

But if you look past all of that, they put out some fricking amazing food. I love it, I don't care about all that other crap.

It's grownup fancy cafeteria/home cooking takes but it works for where it's at.

Can't hate on a sandwich place that doesn't take itself too seriously.

The fried bologna sandwich with homemade potato chips on it is always the go-to for me.

Sadly i was disappointed to hear that he hadn't made it to Stein's right down the street. Hopefully we hear on convo on the best pastrami in town from a philly son.

He lives in Brooklyn. Steins isn’t going to impress him.

Duly noted, that kinda stuff does not matter one iota to me as long as a place has quality food & service. Some people automatically hate anything that gets popular because reasons.

Thanks for the background info though. I’ll be in town for the NC for a few days and will make a point to stop in.

Its an order at the counter sandwich place. No service to really speak of. But they put out a damn good, interesting sandwich. Awesome other stuff too, like the salads, deviled eggs, meat pie, etc.

Yep, that happens all over the city. Let's just say we end up eating at a weird time like 2:30 pretty frequently.

Hmmmm I'd like that but my weekends are always packed to the gills with stuff with the wife. Let me get back to ya on this one.

I'm also on a bit of a self-imposed diet, which is an issue.

They had a lunch special today of a crawfish boil potato salad with fried crawfish that looked pretty good.
