Let me help:
Hayes has made more 3s in 3 summer league games than Ben Simmons has in his entire NBA career.

Let us stay hyped up, OK? If we want to be excited about the potential of Jaxson Hayes, that is our constitutional right.

All these assholes saying he cant shoot. He hit a 3, and looked comfortable doing it. In just his second summer league game. Now go sit the frick down.

LOL!!!!!!!

not just a 3. had a nice 8 foot jumper and a turnaround hook shot. plus he is a pretty decent FT shooter.

If I'm a 76ers fan/coach/owner, I have %0 problem with Simmondms not shooting 3s.

Why does everybody want him to do something he's not good at? He has a TON of skills, shooting the 3 is not one of them.

I would much rather my guy do the things he's really good at as opposed to the things he's not good at. I dont see why people hate on him for that.

I would rather him shoot %.565 from the field doing what he is now than drag that down taking 3s. Jimmy Butler shot %.333 from 3 point range. Hes not a good 3 point shooter. But yet he keeps doing something he's not good at. If anything, its somebody like that that should be hated on.

Rant over.

It keeps the defense honest and won’t clog up the lanes. Go watch Lebron James against Ben Simmons. Do you want to pay someone millions to where they can’t shoot a 3 especially if they are playing 1-3. It kills Simmons confidence to leave someone wide open like that. Imaging being a baller and not being able to shoot. Letting a defender let you shoot wide open because he doesn’t believe in your shot. Look at all the other teams and how they revolutionize around the 3. Especially the rockets and warriors..Hayes play the 5. So if he makes them at .333 that be awesome. It keeps the defense honest.

The best player in the world last season shot 25% from 3 and led his team to the best record in the EC

I’m the same breath, he’s a 74% career FT shooter but can’t hit a 3 to save his life..

This is just dumb. He can’t do the things he’s really good at as well, without some sort of threat from the perimeter. Simmons would be so much better if defenses couldn’t just sit back on him.

Simmons would be better in a team with more spacing.

And he was an all star when the 76ers added more 3 pt shooters

He would be as good a player as we’ve ever seen if he could shoot for average from 3, but if that never happens he’s still a great player.

Thats saying that he isnt doing anything really good now. And thats just dumb. He thrives in transition, backing down smaller guards at will, getting into the paint, getting into the paint and kicking out, facilitating. None of those are dependent on him shooting the three.

I never said that he wouldnt be better if he could shoot the three, of course he would. I am saying right now I wouldnt want him shooting it if he is not good at it, which clearly he isnt. No doubt he's working on it but until they feel comfortable to tell him to let it go, im not going to hate on him.

It's because spacing. If Zion never develops a three either this will be problematic also

Ultimately, It acts as a force multiplier.

Does it make simmons or Zion inherently more skilled at what they do at an elite level? No

However, if teams can’t adjust and focus on what they do at an elite level because they will be punished by an above average 3 point shot, then they will be more successful when utilizing their core skill set.
