The Warriors are possibly worried, but who wouldnt be if one of the best players in the world is on your team and FA is coming up? All of those are to be expected.

It's much more than that. This is a steady drumbeat of reporters from multiple beats hearing the same thing from sources including league executives. The only contradiction is the Warriors saying they don't know what he is going to do, but its not like someone connected to the Warriors is going to say oh yeah, he's gone.

This is the same type of smoke as last year with Lebron to the Lakers.

More for you:

“From everything I’ve heard, it’s done. Yes, he’s leaving… If he so much as gets [the Knicks] into the Conference Finals, he will be beloved there like he never has been at Golden State after 2 Championships.” @RicBucher on Kevin Durant’s free agency

Coaches, players, executives, and reporters from around the league seem pretty convinced he is going to NY.

It's pretty widely known his beef with some guys like Draymond and possibly other warriors

He's gotten a ton of shite over the years for joining an already built super team instead of winning from the ground up. Winning in NY(and in the east to boot) with all of the other potential benefits is likely very appealing.

He'd be a god if he took the knicks to a title

The NBA seems to encourage fun team social media accounts. I’m surprised they don’t get in trouble more often.

This was a silly social media tweet making a jersey that a fan asked. The Knicks intentionally included KD in their official marketing to STH’s.

Speaking of season tickets.

Is it worth buying? I’m thinking about just doing from row of top level baseline because it’s a good deal, or maybe a half season at least.

Are there some benefits and perks to having season tickets?

I ended up doing it to support the organization turning it around and encourage a focus on post-AD Pels. I found that the best deals were the corners - 103,122, 115, and 110, but I like those sight lines a lot and not much more $$$ than baseline, but considerably cheaper than one section over.

I’m in school and it’s a 2+ hour drive for me for games so I dunno if dropping 1k+ is the best move for me.

I was looking at row 1 for 307-309. I’ve never sat up top but I can’t imagine those seats being bad. And it’s very affordable. Then I’d look to upgrade the following season.

I've been season ticket holder in 123 since 2010. Only have to step over 2 seats and take a couple more steps, and I'm at the club bar.

Always enjoy going to the games. Give away 50% of the tickets to people that work for me.

So what are the perks of being a STH? Do y’all ever get to meet coaches, players, etc?

I’m wondering if maybe I should do just a half season? There’s no way in hell im making it to 20+ games a season. And I doubt I’d be able to sell my tickets unless it’s against a good team. Rep is calling me Monday morning so I need to make a decision by then.

Honestly, I've never participated in an season ticket holder event. There was a lady that sat in front of us for 3 years, that knew every event and got every perk possible. A lot of the events seemed really legit from her pictures; and you could get up close and chat with pretty much everyone involved in the team.

We get a $200-250 concession gift card; and then you get the season ticket discount card that saves you like 15 or 20% on everything inside the arena including the gift shop.

Yea, I probably don't end up even attending 50% of the games. Every 2 months I pick all the games I want, and give the rest to be given away. It's always nice to have something to do with the wife; or friend or whatever.

Thanks for the info. I probably should’ve asked the rep all of this shite yesterday. Trying to get it to where it’s me and a friend going in on a pair. If he doesn’t jump in it with me then I’ll go with a half season package.

Ryan Schwan who used to host the In The NO podcast spitting some bitter truth

quote:

After watching several of these rebuilds, I would bet that 100% of the Pelicans roster is gone within two trade deadlines.

The fantasy is out there that this years pick plus the AD trade haul plus Jrue will allow the Pels to avoid a rebuild. That would require every possible piece of good luck to go in the Pels favor. If you are a Pels fan and still expect good luck . . .

The upside to this is I think Jrue can bring back some decent trade pieces. The problem with wading full on into a rebuild though is it still takes some amount of luck to avoid being Sacramento and Orlando. You still need to acquire a (future) top 10ish and top 30ish level player while you're down if you want any shot at success.

Can Tatum become a top 10ish player which is the question at the heart of this thread. If he can't what direction should the Pels go?

I mean if they trade for Tatum/Smart/Brown (or some combination) I doubt all of those guys + Jrue are gone within two years. If so things went very, very wrong.

Unless he's saying the roster now before any trade. If so then sure. That's not exactly a bold statement.
Most of the guys playing now (ex. Jrue) are fringe guys or decent role players at best. And if they make a Knicks type trade I can certainly see them trading Jrue in that case. I like Frank and Kenny, but if they aren't on the roster in two years I'm not going to be floored.

I don’t see Jrue being traded if the do the Boston trade. We’d have a deep roster.

Holiday, Tatum, Randle (assuming he is brought back), Smart or Brown possibly both, Elfrid (assuming he is brought back), Kenrich, Jah, Frank, Wood, and likely 3 picks from this draft. Team is weak at Center, but everything else is solid to good, with an actual bench.

If they do the AD trade for Zion or Morant, then yea I think Holiday is gone.
