SMH. Why didn’t we take a chance on him. I know he sucks on the defensive end but we could use his scoring with the second unit or opposite Jrue at times. Unbelievable.

5'9" guard who seemingly is a shell of himself and whose style of play doesn't fit what we are trying to do? No thanks.

Because he chose to play with Malone.

He’s got history with Denver’s coach. Even if the Pels were interested it’s hard to beat a trusted coach when the goal is to play a role that gets you back to big money.

My sources tell me that Dell Demps has been awake for the last 96 hours running simulations on 2K18 and trying to find ideas for a Solomon Hill salary and annual first rd pick dump. He doesn’t have time to worry about IT on a minimum. He’s got a first rd pick in his arsenal to unload and that’s all he’s concerned about at this point.

He might never fully recover from hip injury and.surgeries.

He gets to set the market.

Unless NBA starts requiring refs call travel and carrying He cannot stop bigger men.

You give him travel call on stars going to dunk or guys shifting both feet to set to shoot. Then he can steal the ball when they have to put it on the floor without carry.

He either gets a time machine before Dr j, mj made travel ok, and before magic made palming a thing.
No 6 8 guy can bring the up the court against IT if you blow the whistle when 6 8 palms or doesn't bother to put ball on the floor.

The game was more exciting when quick guards would steal the ball in the open court and tie up bigger men driving. You can't tie someone up if he doesn't have to put the ball on the floor. You can't steal from a big man who palms.

It’s also a roster spot and a potential negative personality in the locker room.

There's plenty of quality guards out there that don't have the baggage/recent injuries and fit better

this. Dell and Gentry want guards who can play defense at this point from what we’ve heard. IT doesnt play defense and also doesnt fit in the offense we run.

IT was an option here. For a while.
But Dell wanted two way players. And IT is not such a player.

Also IT would have been perfect for Pels as a 15-20 minute force from the bench.
He expects more.

He knows Malone who gave him defined role. Maybe even starting role.

He wanted to be paid and when it was not possible decided to move to Denver having multiple minimum offers.

We still dont know about his hip and how he will behave in limited role.

But minimum contract is worth signing. Good get by Denver.
Perfect in their defensive scheme.
I mean lack of scheme...

I don't understand how Denver don't have a better defensive scheme. I always thought Malone was a defensive coach. I guess he just doesn't have the players.

Gentry was supposed to be offensive coach and Pels played decent defense after Boogie went down.
It probably depends on what you have player-wise

And do what with Payton? I do not like I.T. and his attitude around this team. We are going younger and healthier. He's the opposite of everything we're doing.

There's a reason the Celtics, Cavs, and Lakers all passed on him and it's not just injuries.
