Well they suck with him and they suck without him. How about picking a player whose absence would cause a contending team to become a losing team?

Um, well, how about Lebron?!?

Throw Durant in there, as well.

Love
Lillard
Curry
George

The heat would be decent with Lebron and the thunder have done fine without KD in the past

well i would define them as being very valuable if those two teams went from "expected to play in the championship series" to a "decent team".
look at chicago, they aren't a contender to win it all, but they certainly were with Rose.
Hell even Westbrook makes the Thunder a team that probably can't get to the finals without him.

Those teams don't give a shite about making the playoffs. They want to win it all. They can't win it all without those guys, hence they are very valauble.

Not really true anymore.

AD will pass him up very soon

Maybe

Dirk

Not anymore

Parker

You very wrong

Harden

At this point, probably, but AD will start getting some of those phantom calls that make Harden what he is.

CP3

You're probably right, but CP3 is fading while AD is improving

You wrong as evidenced by the Bulls success with him and his max contract sidelined

Noah. Without him, the Bulls would be running the type of streak the Sixers are on right now.

The answer is Yes, Kevin Durant.

Without Durant, the Thunder would probably be the Toronto Raptors or at best, Phonex Suns. A small market team with no reason to talk about them.

It's not Lebron. Miami has won a few championship and has Pat Riley running the team. Plus they have Wade and Bosh. If Lebron was gone, they wouldn't be great, but they'd be a big market team with two superstars.

CP3...eh. They are still a large market team and they did okay when he was out for a while.

Paul George maybe. Indiana is a pretty small market team, but they'd be like the Memphis Grizz with a strong inside presence. (ie Hibbert/West being a similar calibar to Gasol/Randolph)

Only because rose is already out. Rose's absence knocks them out of contention.

If the heat lost Lebron they would still have two all stars

well they aren't a contender without him, with him they were certainly a contender. I'd say that makes him very valuable...Much more valuable than a guy whose team wins 35 games and would only win 20 without him.

What?

Those 2 are the only ones you can think of?

LBJ, KD, and believe it or not, Joakim Noah.

You take LBJ away from the Heat, they are a mid level playoff team. Wade was a star, but hes a much diff player now due to injuries, and they would be leaning on him more than ever without LBJ. He can barely play back to backs now...imagine what those knees would be like if he was the guy. And he still cant shoot the 3. Bosh would be solid. But they would suffer on the D end of the court more than anything.

You take KD away from the Thunder they become an inefficient team that cant shoot the 3. Westbrooks ppg would go up, but not that much. And his % would plummet, and they arent even that high right now.

You take Noah off the Bulls these past 2 years, they are bottom 5 in the NBA record wise.

Curry is awesome and 1 of my favorite guys in the league. But thats still a good roster without him. Jamal Crawford, Steve Blake, Klay Thompson, Iggy, Harrison Barnes, David Lee, Bogut, Speights, etc.

True, but the OP stated AD and even with him we are still out of contention. I just feel that Noah is the centerpiece of a solid bulls team (without Rose) and they've been beating very good teams. We have a decent cast around AD, injuries included, and we still have trouble beating any team in the league right now.

If you put Davis on there then you should have DeMarcus Cousins up there too.
