Watch playoff basketball and you realize that you have to have a guy who can create for himself at all 3 levels, not just 1 of them like Zion.
BI’s playoff series did not help his trade value. There’s an unanswered question there. Does it only take one pitbull to wash him out of a series?
This “3 level scorer” averaged 13/4/3 on 35/25/90 splits being guarded by one guy and showed zero toughness/fight.

that okc series flatlined his trade value.
crazy how he goes from having enough value to acquire the #2 overall pick for him to nobody really wanting him in 2 years

I don't think the biggest issue with Ingram is his shot profile in my opinion. I think his inability to close games at a high level is my biggest gripe. If he had DeMar DeRozan's elite closing ability, I would not even hesitate to give him his money.
Big time players make big time shots consistently. Ingram has never proved that he can do it anywhere near enough to warrant the kind of money he's asking for.
And I think giving a guy 50 Mil a year, that player has to be able to close games.

When has he come back out of shape?
Ingram has done nothing to physically develop. He still weighs under 200lbs. There isn't a major star as rail thin as him. He should have filled out by now. Even Durant weighs 230+. That speaks to dedication.
quote:
Are you attributing his injuries to a lack of effort?
Hell yes. He is soft. He takes forever to recover and will not play through pain. He has missed significant time (well over 25%) of games in NO. He's not dependable.
quote:
He should have worked harder and his knee wouldn't have hyper-extended?
Injuries happen. They just happen to him more often. It's not bad luck. You can blame genetics if you want. I understand why they treat him so carefully and slow roll his recoveries. But to act like that would not impact his value is just silly. This isn't a normal workplace, with protections for the chronically injured. His value is going to suffer.

Wait until you realize that Ingram has played more games than Zion this season
Oh yeah, those games where BI was the only healthy NBA player are an indictment on BI.

Yet the guy this board says will easily replace him was far worse with far less defensive attention...

It's hilarious how Ingram gets the "he's always worked hard" nonsense considering the only time he ever consistently works hard on the court is when he has the ball.
Shelley is full of shite when discussing Ingram yet again. Ingram is constantly reposting and running off screens in the offense while Zion literally stands at half court until someone passes the ball. You have to stop projecting Zion bullshite onto Ingram.

He works a hell of a lot harder than Zion in both aspects

When BI is balling, he’s a great asset.

BI doesn't work hard. Comparing his work ethic to Zion does not change the notion that BI is not a hard worker.
I guess Zion never had a weight problem according to you because Zion controls his weight a "hell of a lot" better than Oliver Miller. That's the logic you're using. Don't do that, it's silly.

Wait, what? I’ve ignored much of the back and forth ignorance that keeps hitting every thread. But are we really saying BI doesn’t work hard?

It's wild if anyone tries to argue that BI works hard any other time, off ball and defense... Nah, not at all.

That was the initial conversation. But you said he didn’t work hard and brought up work ethic. BI works his butt off.

I wonder how the hardest workers in the NBA would respond to that...

Shel has dug his heels in on BI and refuses to give BI any credit whatsoever for all the good shite he has done for this team.

That's obvious.
Now, you'll reply with another post further trying to move the topic off of what I said...

There is no refuting utter bullshite without coming out smelly, so I typically ignore 90% of what you post.

Ingram has become a better defender, rebounder, and passer since he came here. He also did exactly what you pissed and moaned about and started taking and making more 3s, so your above question is just you being obtuse. You ask a rhetorical question and then expect a well-written response. You're a pre-biased bullshite artist without an original thought,.
