BI must have gotten the memo a bit earlier than others

BI is drinking the SVG Koolaid already:

On the defensive side I just think it's all about effort and being in the right position, going back to preparation again, it's all about effort

I'm definitely excited, having Stan Van Gundy pushing all of the young guys in the room, and having some of the experienced players, for him to be behind us is going to be really good. It's going to challenge some guys' mental toughness, but I think it's going to be good for all of us.

Yeah he seems a lot more comfortable compared to last year. More in his element. I love his mentality. Hope it carries over.

He can take it to another level too.

I think whats good to hear from both our star players is the attitude, approach, and respect they have for the type of coach SVG is. Zion likening him to the old school approach of his step-dad/Coach K, Ingram appreciating the need to be tougher on players and hold himself and them to account.
Because I don't think his coaching style is necessarily for everyone.
Like I 100% don't think SVG would be the right fit in either LA franchise, PHI, BRK etc. But for a team like us, or MIA(ironic given the history I know), or PHO, or any team with more workhorse mentalitiy players he fits, and likely thrives. And Kira seems to be of that mold as well. So I don't ever see a Dwight Howard diva type situation ever materializing with our guys.

I really think that Griffin set SVG up well, by making it clear to everyone that he specifically brought SVG in to be tougher on guys and hold them accountable.
It lets Griffin be the bad guy instead of SVG, and it makes it clear the new culture of accountability is from Griffin on down.
