Here's what the Thunder rolled out their first year...
Here's what they recently switched to...
Look pretty similar right? It's just a rendering at this point, but we know they'll add the arena logo to the court when it's the real deal. They might add other touches as well...we're still early in the rebrand. But for the most part, NBA courts are simple.

I'm meh on it.
It's certainly not terrible.
I'd like it more if they ditched the Fleur de Birds and replaced them with the CCB logo.

The organization is doing a ton of things at once. There is a subtlety that comes with good mature designs. I'm sure things will change over time, but initially, the franchise is going to look like an expansion team.

I disagree. Everyone loves the color scheme and logos, which are much, much harder to come up with than a court design. As someone else said, all they have to do is plug in different logos and colors and they can get 50 different designs in 30 minutes. They just went with one of the more basic ones.
It is kind of boring, but that's better than trying too hard. And I'm sure it won't be hard to roll out a new design later on if they get negative reaction to this one

Fleur De Bird stinks. The Nola logo would've also been preferable.

This wasn't a fail on your part. It was a fail on the organization's part. This is what I was talking about when I said "debacle." They announced the release, then put up the wrong rendering. It's been bad.

Yep, and darker wood resembles more of the type of wood that a Pelican would be found on or near.
The positive that I take away from the design choice they made is that blue and gold will definitely be the colors emphasized because I'm not a big fan of red.
