I think yes poster is being a bit extreme but I think he speaks for a lot of pel fans that they’re tired of mediocrity and seeing the same group run it back when they don’t really fit together.

His play and attitude when we needed him most last year in the playoffs is what tells me he wants out. Willie benching him looked to get BI really in
his feelings and he never recovered from it. I’d love if BI would play like he can on both side des of the ball and take 6+ attempts from 3 a game but I don’t see it. BI is a ball dominant player that slows the game down Just for the record I would cut a backflip if we got Murray for BI but I doubt it happens. Other places I read about BI for Trae Young were laughable to me. Atlanta would be idiots to do that deal even if Young has a challenging personality. Then you have Trey and what to do with him if BI stays. He won’t want to come off the bench much longer.

It’s not really an overreaction. It’s just a fear of repeating the same thing over and over again. I want us to find a solid trade but a trade that helps both clubs immediately is harder to do than maybe one taking draft capital for trades or building the future. My real fear is how long we have to make a run before Zion says enough and asks for a trad3 like AD did to us and CP3 before him.Time is our enemy.

The main improvement from the team next season will be the improvement from:

1) Zion

2) Trey/Herb/Dyson/Hawk/Jose

There's every reason to expect for Zion to make another leap and hit new heights of greatness. The rest of our young core can also jump a level.

Yes, we need to upgrade at the center position, and we could use a better fitting #2 than BI, but you are putting way, way too much importance on the idea of a trade.

A big part of Zion taking the leap is BI not being there and a better fitting number 2 on the team. The BI trade-if there is one- would signify this is officially Zions team. So it is pretty important.

I’m in the minority but I actually don’t think Jonas was part of the problem but he was part of what held the team together with his availability and his reliability. You knew you were getting a double double and that you had size and physicality at the expense of foot speed. If JV could up his 3 game to shoot closer to 40% over 3-4 shots per game I would love having him back and then go try to draft a young center to hopefully mold into the starter. I’d love to be able to bring Naji back as well to play the backup 3/4. I can see Jonas going to LA so the giant pussy doesn’t have to play C anymore and can play the 4 like he prefers. Naji on the other hand, if his market doesn’t develop his dog mentality is something I think this team will miss when it’s gone.

His play was a combination of good defense and coming off of an injury, probably too soon. I do not take that as him "wanting out of here." As far as getting upset by Willie's benching, do you blame him? We had just lost Zion to injury and Willie makes the bonehead move of leaving him on the bench. Most fans were pissed as well.

Jayson Tatum is expected to be paid $60+ million a year. Ingram should’ve taken a hard look at Tatum and see how he played. When his shots aren’t falling, he’s rebounding/assisting and playing defense. Wish BI had that mindset.

BI just isn’t as good. Never was, never will be. Sometimes it isn’t always about mindset

BI always plays poorly for a while when he comes back from injury. It takes him a while to get in rhythm. We've seen this many times.

It's unfortunate, but it is what it is.

Didn’t BI just lead us to a Game 6 vs the Suns and a standing ovation send off. I can’t wait till CJ is gone so I can watch Herb Zion BI and Trey play together.

Uhh, no.

People want CJ gone but no one is explaining who, other than Trey, is taking and making 3s...much less who is doing that at an elite level that is darn near the best 3pt shooter in the game and can create his own 3 like CJ... Hawkins isn't filling THAT gap.

Griff\willie saw success with Zion\bi alternating rest days early in the season. Pelicans can resign bi, but not while keeping McCollum. There’s a couple points available in the draft, just saying.

Dejounte Murray is probably the absolute max talent type guy we could get for BI

and considering their fit on this team, I'd take Murray for BI straight up, at this point...

everyone acting like we should be getting a king's ransom for BI needs to come back to reality... the overvaluing of BI is sort of comical at this point, and considering he is one of the pieces that is truly holding us back, we need to come to grips with the fact that he's not a major bargaining chip, and he never really was.... we need to move on, and get anything of worth for him, b/c he simply doesn't fit with what we want to do going forward, nor does he buy into what we want to do going forward

JV isnt' coming back so we will have a new center.

Why is it BI that has to go out to "not run it back"?
Explore moving CJ.

CJ to Magic
Suggs to Hawks
Murray/WCJ to Pels
Send whatever picks out, i don't care about them.

Our closing lineup should be Murray/Herb/BI/Trey/Zion.

We should be aiming to build a team where Zion is the 5. That's the formula if we want to win anything. We shoudl be able to force teams to play small, like GSW did with their titles. You still need a good big 5 though, just doesn't need to be a guy who's playing 30mpg and closing games for you.

I like the thought of Z as the center for a portion of the game. After all the Pels played last season with Nance as center.

Zion needs to be in condition, hustle and develop a mid-range shoot. So that's a big if because Z lacks conditioning, hustle and an outside shoot. I believe Z has the skills to develop an outside game. This would allow B and Z to coexist and the team to play faster. The Pels would essentially invert to allow Dyson or Herb to be the primary rebounder to initiate the fast break.

Because technically you have 2 star guys (BI and Zion) who live in the paint. They aren’t 3 point threats. I’m ok moving CJ but in reality he fits Zion better. Plus the fact that BI wants a max deal- just makes more sense to trade him.

I'm more in line with this thinking. I have one of those "be careful what you wish for" scenarios. where I think moving BI helps Trey develop. I know BI has had moments where he looked like a star, but his showing in the playoffs, plus being the only player with any good value, I think he has to be moved.

CJ, when he's on, is a 3 level scorer. But his "on" times were fewer late last season. And that hurt the team. There are ways to improve a 49 win team and I hope that's where the FO's focus is.
