re: If Burke falls to 6, do you think Monty/Dell will take him?

When I think Big SFs it's not a particular measurement, but a combo of weight(strength) and height. I wouldn't play that line-up 30 mins a game, but in small ball situations there would a be a nice skill advantage.
It just gives the P's a versatilty. Nothing against Burke, but I don't think you can do that with him. I want the #6 pick to be able to be share the court with the core players(Anderson,EG,Davis) and our primary role player, GV. I'm afraid you give up a little defensively with Burke.

Burke looked great in the tournament but his D is troubling at the NBA level, IMO

We need SF more than PG imo.

the more i hear about these other guards like McCollum climbing higher the less I want Burke. if they go guard, i'd rather not take Burke. but i'd also them rather not go guard. just IMO.

the Pels need help everywhere except PF. Never enough guards, especially with the uncertain futures of Rivers and Gordon.

In terms of immediate need there's no doubt, imo.
Except for the fact that Aminu is going to perfect a sweet jump shot over the summer and become a dagger taking it to the rim.

He really could become a damn solid player with a few improvements. Does he, though?

No shite. I haven't totally given up on him, but he's running out of chances.

He's still so young. As goofy as the high arch is, it indicates he tried working on it, at least.

Any chance we take our pick at #6 (Burke, Len?) and trade back up to grab Shabazz? Most mocks have him falling close to completely out of the lottery all together. A deal including Aminu shouldn't be too hard to put together.

Can't trade Aminu on draft night, as you can't do a S&T until the new league year.

I don't think so. The most likely trade up spot for that is Dallas' #13 pick, but that would require taking on Shawn Marion's contract. $9 million is a lot to pay for a draft pick.

Yep, forgot he wasn't under contract.

Sources say the Pelicans like Burke because he has the potential to get them in their offensive sets quicker and he could provide more versatility in their backcourt that could include starting point guard Greivis Vasquezplaying off the ball.
Perfect burke and vasquez together damn
