I truly believe this team is going to be ok but right now Zion and BI have to carry us.

We are going to have to weather this first month and we are going to syck arse but we will eventually get healthy and have Trey, Herb, Dejounte, CJ and Hawk all back to health. If Zion truly wants to be looked at as a generational player and BI wants a max deal from someone then there is no better time than right now for them to show it. There’s no one else to share the ball with. Be selfish. I want those two taking the vast majority of the shots. BI needs to play some pick and roll with Missi and Zion has to open his entire bag on offense and play with energy on defense. We can be a scary squad when we have our full roster but our two top guys have to just keep us afloat for a couple weeks.

I think what you're saying is more or less accurate - this team, while healthy, can be very good.
Unfortunately we are not stealing enough games vs average to bad competition right now. If we put ourselves in a hole, it is going to be VERY difficult to gain the necessary ground on the good teams in the West once everyone returns. Because we have to remember that even once everyone has returned to play, there are factors like rust and chemistry that will need to be worked through as well.

As long as Zion isn’t confident in his jumpshot, he’s not going to be able to carry the team by himself taking 25 shots because he’s not going to be able to sustain that beating down low drive after drive that the refs like to allow cause he’s a large guy. Him adding a shot would increase his sustainability more than anything. Zion is a 10 assist per game type of player, don’t think he can do it on his own without some shooters.

Guys, injuries are obviously the reason we are losing. We need 3's, a pg to get into offense, and perimeter defense. Trey & CJ, DJ, and Herb.

I agree. I’ve had that approach all along, we have great depth, but obviously to a degree. You can’t overcome 5 of your best players out consistently, especially this early in the season when it’s not worth overworking them for minimal return. I would like to see a lot more BI and Zion action with Missi at the 5 though. BI needs to shoot the hell out of the 3 if they are going to go below Z’s screen, I just don’t know any other teams who don’t run actions with their top 2 players. Practice that shite.

You would think with BI’s midrange game and his extremely underrated passing and Zion’s driving ability that they could run one hell of a pick and roll but we never see it. Now is the perfect time. Missi has been a revelation though and he’s made the decision about what the Pels are going to do at the 5 am easy one. Missi can start in this league. He’s just going to get better with playing time. Now we can either trade BI for something other than a center or maybe even find a way to keep him. He’s opened up a lot of options for this team and I’m excited to see this squad with Murray running the point and Herb nightly guarding by the opposing player’s best player.

Come on they just won against Indiana doing this. But yes they have to do it for longer sustained stretches with everyone out.
