I love that Zion doesn’t seem to care about worshipping Lebron

It’s clear Lebron is not his idol. It also seems Lebron is butt hurt by this.

Interesting article in the athletic suggesting there’s something there between them. Wonder if Lebron is butthurt about Zion spurnining his jersey salesman agent?

I think there’s no bad blood, I think Zion is just a different dude who is smart enough to make his own decisions and not blindly worship Lebron like less intelligent followers...AD.

Zion is refreshing.

Yep he doesn’t look in “ awe” of him. Love that about Zion , when they say “ Not bowing down”... Zion fits that description perfect

What happened, what is this based on?

I think LeBron and Dwade have ruined the NBA with their "everyone is my bro" bullshite. Jordan didn't have any bros on the court. He may have been friends with them off the court, but he was a damn killer. I see a lot of that in Zion. He is PISSED when they lose to the point where he doesn't ever look like he wants to talk to the media.

It was suggested in an article in the Athletic.

Basically, how both Lebron and Zion keep saying they don't have a "relationship" and have never met before despite having been in the same building five times before.

It's all speculation but the author hinted that it may be because Zion didn't go Klutch or Lebron's shoe company whatever it is (don't follow shoes).

Also talked about how Lebron and Ja are sucking each other off and trading jerseys after the Memphis game vs Zion being like, "I don't know him." haha

Author also said, Zion seems less interested in having a superstar mentor and seems more interested in connecting with his peers.

I personally would love Zion to embrace a mentor - but not a bitch like Lebron. Doesn't have to be a super star imo but someone that shows him how to be a pro. Tim Duncan would be perfect imo. I like guys like Duncan. Win without the stupid drama.

What in that suggested that LeBron was butthurt?

There’s no bad blood between Zion and Bron.

I also think Zion has a lot of respect for LBJ, as a basketball player. At zion’s age, it would be pretty weird if he didn’t. There was nothing wrong with their “bro hug” after the game. It’s pretty natural after a hard fought contest.

Maybe butt hurt is too strong, but he's definitely not slobbing all over Zion like he is with Morant and you kind of start thinking about why.

It's not all on Lebron. Zion doesn't seem interested in him either. I like it.

Zion's Mom probably warned him about worshipping/selling his soul to the devil.

They mentioned how it seemed forced because they didnt really engage much the first time.

Whatever, it's probably nothing. I just like pissing on Lebron and the fact that even if there's no bad blood, there's no love. Zion seems fairly indifferent to him.

The point I'm mostly making, is Zion is his own dude and not the typical weak minded super star.

To be fair, Magic and Issah loved each other before the NBA and we're great friends then hated each other and became friends again lol

Did Ja sign with Klutch?

It honestly sounds like the media, or whoever with the Athletic is just making or hinting at a big thing just because Zion and Lebron aren't buddy buddy. Seems like a non story IMO.

Sounds like 8th grade girls

But yea, people seem to forget how close all those dudes were back in the 80s/90s, it really wasn't any different than it is now. They just didn't live in the social media age where you got to see them hanging out and hear about it and see it everywhere you turned. But Magic/MJ/Barkley...all those dudes were friends. Then you had a thing like MJ legit not being friendly with Isaiah Thomas, and that's similar to the Lebron/Steph dynamic nowadays.

It's all the same shite.

The funniest part is this is a perfect ESPN story and if it were anyone other than Lebron they would be all over this.

I don't agree with this.

In the 80s and 90s teams didn't like each other.

Magic and Bird were hardcore rivals. They warmed up later but when they were playing, there was no love.

Everyone hated Detroit. Parish, Barkley, Bird vs Laimbeer, etc.

Malone and Magic (after the HIV) announcement.

MJ didn't seem to like anyone - even his own teammates.

There were a lot more guys that played like Draymond back then like Rodman.

Even in the 90s/2000s, you had teams that had bad blood. Kings/Lakers. Spurs with Bowen and Horry thugging it up.

And those Knicks teams with Starks weren't sucking each other off pregame.

It's the pussy arse super friends: Lebron, Paul, Wade, Carmelo that really made it all the rage to kiss each other's arse and the young guys just followed em as always.

What’s wrong with that?

Most of them were still stone cold killers

No. But that's apples to oranges. Zion can make an agent. Pre-rookie year Morant, not so much.

Klutch went after Zion. They didn't get him. I doubt there is beef over it.

But the OP is very much right that Zion has no relationship with him. He has said it a number of times now. And it doesn't seem to be somebody he looks up to. He never mentions him when that comes up.
