Remove the max player contract, you want KD... Pay him 45 mill a year but you gotta work the rest of roster with remaining cap, go NFL style enough of this shite. Top 10 players in league should now be making 40-50 mill when you compare to what 2nd tiers are now getting

There isn't a problem whatsoever.

Mediocrity being overpaid bc they are capping the players who actually deserve the mega deals

The players who deserve mega deals will get them when their current contracts are up.

Why should Lebron be capped if a team wants to throw 50% of their cap his way?

For the first time ever I completely agree with you.

NBA cap is a joke.

Who cares? The max level guys you're campaigning for make more on endorsement deals that their salary anyway.

You are right.

The league sat out to create parity. But the max deal works against parity. If a superstar can only make the a certain amount of money, then a small market team cant lure big players with overpaid contracts. And thats probably the only way a team like us could lure some of these players.

I fricking care cause it inhibits fair GM competition and tactics in making rosters. These mediocre players would be kept in check and it'll be a shitload more interesting when KD and Bron are having teams actually competing with their offers

if there was no cap lebron would get a lot more than 50%
so would durant, curry, Westbrook, etc
for the record I agree with you there should be no max but like I said that's only a probeml for lebron and I think he would allow that things are pretty good for him even as capped

There's only so many stars so mediocre players would eventually get overpaid anyway. Not every team would have KD or Lebron.

There's absolutely a problem. Average players are getting way too much money. Having a max is 100% the problem.

The Players union is made of players and shockingly enough there are fewer max guys then non-max quality players that make it up.

So the needs of the many are going to outweigh the few. So for the vast majority of players that wouldn't be paid well above the current max deals, they are going to prefer this system indefinitely.

If you think that fixes "parity" you're fooling yourself. You will always have certain markets/teams that will be willing to pay more than others. Cleveland just had I believe the second largest luxury tax bill in NBA history this past season. That's what it took to win. Some owners aren't going to take that risk. So you'll end up with the richest owners dominating the league.
