This is not an original position. He's been mostly bad, but has done some good things recently. His legacy is tied to AD. If he whispers the magic words and AD resigns he will have done a good job. Otherwise all his failures are magnified and he's looking for a new job.

That’s the thing... he has AD. Building a competitive roster should be easy. It’s hard to build a true contender, but a roster that routinely makes the playoffs as a 5th seed should be easy when you have a top 5 player in the league.
I’ve said for years that Dell sucks and I can’t understand how he’s been the GM for as long as he has.

Did Dell suck when AD was playing like an MVP candidate, and they were 4-0? Or when they blew Portland away in the playoffs last year?
Now that AD is playing like an average starter, and the team is 0-6, Dell sucks?
And I'm not saying that Dell is awesome, but this is just convenient timing for this melt.

Eh, he ain't so bad.
Boogie is a giant jackass but it was widely viewed that we killed it in that trade. The Nico trade was nice. The Jrue trade was nice. Randall was a good sign even though it was partly AD that brought him here.
The Hill contract is obviously terrible but half the league has a bad contract on it.
For a small market team, he's brought in some quality players.
