A chronically injured max contract is worth a rookie contract that's putting up roughly the same stats? I wish....

As others have said, of course we are "open to it".

But we will get pennies on the dollar. The only way to get rid of him is:

a) They do decide to get rid of him for pennies on the dollar because they just don't want to deal with him anymore (think that shite trade Driveman posted);

or

b) They hold on to him up until the trade deadline next season, he remains healthy. plays back to backs, and plays well. With him proving himself and only having 2.5 years left on his deal, we might be able to get some serious value.

you had to know this was coming

every time I see Eric Gordon play well, show aggression, and/or look like his old self I have to reign myself in a little bit and think "there's a possibility he is playing hard because he knows no one wants him with that often injured knee"

so its hard for me to get really excited when I see him play well because thats always in the back of my mind

I always feel like he's playing well for the self and not for the team...I've never gotten this out of my head, when dealing with him.

I also feel like this is the only way to get him out of town. What other player (of similar ability) who also hates being where he is, that we could trade straight up for?

What about for Greg Monroe?

We'd have to give up more than Gordon...possibly Ryno (which, I will go on record, I am not in favor of doing anything with). But...thoughts?

DON'T think that's an option brother. If you let him PLAY next year and we start tearing it up and are heading to the playoffs you can't trade your best playa, especially considering the pathetic seasons we've had recently.really think with mickeys new influence, he knows what type OF people that need to be in the building to build a winner so they'll try to get him out over the summer to make that dark cloud that hangs over the franchise and such an important REBRAND season DISSAPEAR

Pure speculation or based on real information?

You're the man, but it would really suck to sell while his value is so low. I understand the need to rid the team of a cancer, injury prone player with a giant contract...but if we got Barea and Williams for him as you have suggested that would be incredibly deflating.

They've got to get some kind of young scorer or something of value out of it.

We are paying him lots of $$$$, if the value is there, then he stays. Back to back games are going to continue on NBA schedules...gotta get to where he can do that

I'd love to have Monroe but I question why the Pistons would move him as part of a Gordon trade.

My idea of a "good" Detroit trade gets us Monroe with Rodney Stuckey as ballast to match salaries.

My idea of a "bad" Detroit trade centers around getting both Stuckey and Charlie Villanueva as a pure salary dump of Gordon's deal.

I'd rather not suck in perpetuity, though.

I don't think an Eric Gordon trade would have really much impact on this one way or another
