We're at the point, though, where we have to start confronting the idea that BI and Zion are not durable enough for us to count on having both of them healthy at the same time.

Fortunately, when someone makes a thread like this, that player usually turns it on and starts playing like an all-star

I truly have no idea what some of you are seeing. It’s mind boggling.

ATL or WIKSF, is it time for Dyson to get some g league run? I keep looking for him to pull out of this funk but his overall game is spiraling into the abyss. It helped Trey a bunch. Maybe when BI gets back it’s time for him to head to Bama and get up some shots?

I know you didn’t ask me, but I think it’s something to consider. He’s so lost on offense and has no confidence on that end. There was a play tonight where he had a straight line to the basket and hesitated and refused to drive. Some confidence would do him well.

Whoever we draft next, it needs to be a shooter that is ready to produce from day one. No more of these "well if he can develop an offensive game" guys.

45 or so upvotes…and when the next comment questioned it, something like 45 downvotes

Super disrespectful to Herb and not even a solid take, but good to keep the ridiculous overreactions on the board going.

Willie Green isn’t an idiot and isn’t trying to lose. We have key guys out, thankfully the team is deep and can still compete.

Well said. Unfortunately, It’s what’s done around here.

Idk why you assume these takes are based off of one game…

Like thinking one good game absolves him from the stretch of bad play

It has nothing to do with one game. It has to do with the fact that over the course of WEEKS, Dyson has looked absolutely lost on offense and clearly is lacking confidence (not at all surprising for a 19 year old rookie).

Probably need to just let DD shoot open C&S 3s for a bit & he seems OK on offense in transition. At the present time, he's just a bit overmatched physically in halfcourt when he's trying to handle and create things. He's a bit odd himself..."plays" smaller than he actually is... on offense.

He should be fine, with some added strength & once he learns what he can do on offense...and maybe even more importantly...when he CAN'T do. With his defense, he's gonna become an important factor for the Pels, especially when teamed up with Herb.

I agree Dyson will be fine. And I think a big problem is when he’s having to be out there playing with offensively challenged groupings because of the injuries to Zion and BI (and even worse last night with CJ not playing). I think his deficiencies right now on offense won’t show up as much if he’s playing in lineups with 2 of our big 3 playing. But right now it’s putting him in a tough spot.

NO.

Top 10 picks don't spend time in the G-League, unless they are playing to get in game shape b/c of injury, or they really suck.
He's not going to get better there. He's a 19 year old rookie. They all hit a point where the game gets really tough for them, sometimes 2 or 3 times in their first 2 years. He'll be alright.

So if he were the 11th or the 12th pick instead of the 6th pick he could go?? I wasn’t aware of this arbitrary rule. I just figured if the organization thought it could help him (like it clearly did for Trey) they would consider it.

It's not an arbitrary rule.
But history has shown that the only guys that are drafted in the top 10 that spend anytime whatsoever in the G-League are either busts, or they are getting their legs under them.

Trey played 2 games in the G-League last year. That clearly did nothing to help his NBA game.

Trey is an NBA player. So is Dyson. They aren't going to improve on anything while playing in the G-League, except their stamina.

Herb is who everyone else in the NBA thought he was.. decent defender with serious offensive limitations

exactly... Herb being an offensive liability is not an anomaly... that's the EXACT sentiment from his scouting report! strong perimeter defender, tons of hustle, little offensive firepower... he's just, now, not playing above his level... he's playing at it
