Idk, Teddy provides a decent argument on a lot of teams getting better. Team had one job this offseason, sans Zion and BI’s health, upgrade the pivot.
The issue is our main dudes haven't been healthy to know how good we are. If you then say you wanted them traded, I get that. i may not fully agree yet, but I get that.
But it's hard to know what moves in the margins we should have made since we never see this team playing with everyone in their supposed roles. We just don't now. We think we have a good offense but maybe not the best defense, but last season we had a bad offense and nearly elite defense, so we really just have no clue what smaller deals in the margins we should be making.

I mean fa was basically done when Trey got hurt. That's not on the front office for not foreseeing that.

What? I hope other teams are dumb enough to not feel threatened by CJ. He feasted when it was point Zion.

I am not concerned about Summer League. Dyson struggled last year with the players we had on offense. I’d expect him to struggle with Summer league guys too. If he can’t get shots with Zion/ BI and Trey/ CJ all in the game then yeah it’s slightly concerning. I almost don’t give a shite about his offense if he is able to lockdown the teams #2 best scorer. At that point we don’t have to pay him crazy money on the next contract and he is still valuable.
His shot will get better whether it’s from not taking 3’s or just general improvement.
And again if you do a 30min average he’s only played 34 nba games. He’s taken 206 total shots in the NBA…..
For comparison
Mathurin: 951 shots attempted
Sharpe: 648 shots attempted
Keegan Murray: 784 shots attempted
Jaden Ivey: 984 shots attempted
So yeah I’ll give him a little time….

We drafted a pure shooter with the 14th pick in the draft lol.
Let me ask you this: Who are we trading to get salary for a shooter? Half our roster doesn’t make shite. The other half are our fricking shooters hahaha
Unless this shooter makes less than 10mil your options to trade are:
Val (not getting a better shooter at center for his price)
Zion
CJ
BI
Trey
Herb
Nance (most likely to go but need him until we see a healthy Zion/ Liddell.
You don’t have an option

So if you want a shooter who plays 15-20 minutes a night, that's fine. But you are going to have to lose a rotation player that provides some other value to the team that makes that position unit worse.

If he can't score then he is unplayable in the playoffs. Guys who can't score get played off the court, you see it every year. It's absolutely crucial that he gets better on offense. Defensive specialists aren't that hard to find. If that's all dyson is then that's disappointing for an 8th pick

Pat Beverley hasn’t been in the NBA for 13 years with a career avg of .37 3pt% and .41 FG%? Because that’s Dyson’s floor in my opinion.

Dan my Man,
All i'm saying is that every other team in the West did something. I"m not saying i agree with all those moves, are even that those moves make those teams better. The point is all of those teams think they did something to help them be better this year.
We literally did nothing except say "we'll just be healthier this year". Adding Cody Zeller is equivalent to nothing.
and i'm not even saying we really needed to do anything. I would have been nice to add a shooter instead of Cody fricking Zeller, or really anything other than him.
I feel good about our team, if healthy, and we are in a good position to make our moves at the trade deadline, which i'm pretty sure was always the plan as opposed to making any moves this offseason.

I don't think there's much of a difference between us bringing back our entire rotation and another team losing 1 or 2 rotation players and replacing those dudes but not necessarily getting better.
We just had no one in the rotation that needed to be replaced.

The issue that needs to be solved all these guys need to shoot WAY more 3s. We were last in 3PA last year. 2 of the top 6 guys in 3PA from last year arent here, JR and Graham, 2 others are hurt, Trey and Jose. BI is going to have to more than double his 3PA, same with Herb. Hawkins is going to have to play immediately and take like 5 3PAs and Dyson is going to have to shoot at least 3-4 3PA. All that would need to happen to just to get to where we were last year in 3PA.
The offense is going to be fricking ugly

it’s called the offseason for a reason. the front office needs time to take vacations, spend time with their family, and get refreshed for the season so they can be their best.
there is no time to add players to make the team better when our front office is busy creating a good work/life balance.

Adding Cody Zeller is an upgrade from Hayes and a wash from losing Billy. You are being naive.
We did nothing except say “we will be healthier this year”….
How many of those teams had 2 top 25 players out all year bruh? If you don’t believe in Bi/ Zion then I get it but you are being ignorant as to what we “gain” compared to those teams with our players healthy.
CJ was our #1 scorer last year and should be #3.
BI and Zion are 1&2.
Getting our #1 and #2 scorers back for the season, adding depth at positions of need, and draft a pure scorer in the 1st rd isn’t “doing something”?
What the frick do you want man? Not trying to be a dick but realistically tell me what moves you make for us to be “better” than having our current team playing 82 games?

Dyson is so far from shooting 37% from 3, I'm not even sure why you're bringing up beverly.

“What moves could we have made that would change that we needed to get healthy this year?”
- what’s frustrating is this is the same story every year. So if they don’t stay healthy this year again- we’re suppose to be satisfied staying pat again because theres no way we can make them healthy.

Grizzlies: lost Dillon Brooks/ Tyus Jones/ 2 first rd picks
Mavs: Cuban has money and will use it. Can’t say the same for a lot of owners. And they sucked arse past year
Warriors: Traded Jordan Poole for 80 y/o CP3. I’m shaking in my boots
Rockets: Literally had 70 million in open cap space
Lakers: Everyone bails them out, there’s no other nba comparison for their bullshite trades/ free agents
OKC: Bertans is ok. These guys are great 5 years ago
Suns: lost Ayton/ don’t care who they added. They lost Ayton and that makes them worse
Kings: I agree Javale McGee is the difference between winning that championship or not. (Complete sarcasm)
Portland/ Spurs “rebuilding”: Yup confirmed they will both jump us this year and we are not rebuilding or have the 2 best players of our 3 teams combined.
Did you just say John Collins is better than Zeller completely disregarding that 1 makes 1 million and 1 makes 25x that amount? So yeah John Collins is about 25x better than Cody fricking Zeller not argument there.
This.
Grizzlies I'll say are treading water. Losing Brooks and Jones is huge though. We all hate Brooks and he screwed them in the playoffs but he was kinda their leader and provided the swag - plus he owned the frick out of BI (thanks refs).
Mavs...meh.
Warriors - An old team just got older. Who's hands does Paul take the ball out of? And it's going to suck when he gets hurt like always in the playoffs. Dumping Poole was smart though - he sucks.
Rockets - They will be better but spent a LOT of money for average guys.
Lakers - OMG Christian Wood! The same dude who makes every team he's on worse. What could go wrong?
Suns - Old, no defense playing and lost their C. Ayton is overpaid and a headcase but adding Beal doesn't do much as either he or Durant will be broken down.
Kings - Yawn
Portland - Got a lot better

Because he’s a guy that has been put on contending teams to close out games and primarily for his defensive abilities….
No but he isn’t that far away from his defense already as a rookie….
Put 2 and 2 together and look at all of the minutes/ shot attempts or lack thereof that I brought up earlier.
His defense is elite which means he’s playable. Did we not do this with Herb? Herb was arse on offense and wasn’t even tasked with being the primary ball handler as a rookie without Zion and BI in the game.

Look you can doubt Dyson’s offensive abilities or stress concern for how he is playing.
BUT if you actually watched his defense vs Lebron, Doncic, centers, etccc as a fricking 19 y/o rookie and STILL say he will be “unplayable” then you are simply a hater.
“He’s unplayable in the playoffs even though he is one of few players capable of guarding the championship level players in the playoffs”

Make no mistake, front office blows! However:
1. Up against the tax
2. All the guaranteed contracts
3. Who wants to come to NO?
4. Are we even ready to push all the chips in?
