Note this is a rumor from a Clippers blogger so treat it as such, but BSS/247 had a Clippers blogger on this week's podcast and McNamara just tweeted this.

quote:

Michael McNamara ?@McNamara247

Off air with Clippers writer, he said he has heard a lot of buzz from FO sources that a Bledsoe/Jordan for EG/Lopez deal could go down

i know off air and off the record are two different things, and the source is a blogger, but i wonder if the blogger knew mcnamara was going to publicize this

eta: that's trade rape, too...and not for the good guys

I'm not a Jordan fan at all, but I'd definitely consider that deal. Dumping Gordon's contract for players that actually play.

Jordan is better than Lopez. Bledsoe isn't as good as Gordon but Gordon is useless if he never plays. He IS an upgrade over Vasquez, in my mind.

Frees us up to pick pretty much whatever in Draft/FA.

(Also: I might be arguing in favor of this just to argue because I know everyone will hate it... )

i haven't watched enough of his play, but looks like Jordan's numbers aren't as good as lopez. again, that's just numbers. jordan may be better defensively, though.

This is likely. Bledsoe isnt going to sit behind paul another season, clippers are ready to dish jordan, gordon never wanted to leave clippers.

Does Jordan do anything else but dunk? And maybe block a shot? Serious question.

He's not as good offensively, he is a good shot blocker, and he runs the floor a lot better. We would certainly not be going the "rugged" direction though.

Thats about it... doesnt rebound well, cant have him on the floor in the 4th because he shoots 36% FT and his contract is gigantic

Also another player on the Clip side would need to be involved because it doesn't work, at least not as of now.

I honestly think this is debatable. When you factor in salaries, it's comical.

Lopez has 2 more years around $5 million/yr
DeAndre has 2 more years around $11 million/yr

im with you. id do this deal.

as for jordan, he is overpaid. but he reminds me of tyson Chandler at this age. not saying he will become any where near as good, but numbers, games are at least similar at this stage in their development.

and hes only got 2 years left on his deal.

The main reason this deal goes down is Chris Paul.
The clippers know that they need more talent to attract Paul into staying (i.e. Gordon). They also know that they cant keep Paul and Bledsoe, so trade away the lesser of the two. And finally they know that we are one of the major players in trying to sign Paul this offseason, so they kill two birds with one stone in getting rid of Bledsoe and giving us a starting point guard so that we stay away from Paul. Lopez and Jordan are just salaries to make it work.

I can see that comparison but Tyson seemed to have more desire even at that age. DeAndre looks disinterested a lot of times. I guess that's arbitrary but JMO.

The only glimmer of hope for Jordan is that he takes a similar career path to Tyson Chandler. Career underachiever who realizes who he is and focuses on rebounding/defense. If the guy couldn't score with CP running the point then his scoring numbers won't ever be decent. He also has a terrible contract.

It's hard to compare a PG to SG but Bledsoe could be better than Gordon.

I don't really like the deal. And bloggers as a reputable source is funny. Man these people have an inflated value of themselves.

I tried making it work adding Willie Green, and it still doesn't work. So I have no idea how they make the money match.

Jordan really is a dreadful FT shooter, that's true. I hate that.

I've commented on that before.

The question just becomes, is dumping Gordon and gaining Bledsoe worth taking on Jordan?

THAT'S the question.

It's certainly not as bad as the Gordon for Derrick williams and JJ barea driverman posted a while back. I'm not a fan of Jordan at all though.
