I say match and trade with another team. I like Gordon but its not worth the headache.
Make a deal with Indiana for George

does kinda worry me to sign a guy to a max deal who may not really wanna be here... or not want to be here at all

Did anyone other RFA release a prepared statement saying their heart is with the team who offered them?
Doesn't seem like any reason for Gordon to talk IMO...

I'm incredibly disappointed right now. Damn.
Phoenix really doesn't have jackshit to offer us in a S&T.
All I know is that if we match and he's on our team come opening day, he will be the first Hornet I actively boo.

It also said it was a prepared statement. Do you expect him to be in Phoenix and say, "Yeah, Phoenix is cool. I think I'd rather play for the Hornets, though."
I want Gordon here and expect him to be here whether he wants to be here or not. But he didnt even need to say anything. This was stupid and damaging to his relationship with the Hornets. It makes no sense to me. Oh well, see you in camp EG

I thought his heart was in Indy? What the hell happened to that?

To be fair, CP3 didn't directly say he wanted out of New Orleans until the very end IIRC.
Key words: "the very end".
We'll be 3 years away from that once we match. I really don't think he'd have the leverage given that, even if he doesn't want to be here, I doubt that he's going to pull a Vince Carter and purposefully play like dogshit, especially if we're competing for the playoffs.

You guys are putting WAY too much stock into him saying he "wouldn't mind playing in NOLA." How does that make any of you feel any better? It's the same thing as the "pretty good city" shite that we all make fun of. I think this has potential to get shitty for sure. I've backed him and his shite for body since he has been here, but this doesn't look good. Even if we match we are matching and paying a max deal to a dude who said "my heart is in Phoenix." Sucks. We'll just have to wait it out, but like I said, doesn't look real good.

If he wanted to play for the Hornets, yes.
He knows NO would match so why would he NOT say he prefers new Orleans?

You look really naive...
Im still waiting for Chris Paul, Carmelo, Amare, Deron Williams, Lebron, and Bosh to release their official statements about leaving their team.

There is no explanation for him to do this beyond he absolutely wants to get the frick out. Let's oblige him.

Let the dust settle and let Gordon come back and talk to our front office. People are trying to draw conclusions right now when none of us know 100% what Gordon wants or is thinking. I can't believe any basketball player would hate a city enough to vehemently oppose playing for it, especially one with as much promise as ours.

Who's got pieces to where we wouldn't get arse raped in a trade?
Posted on 7/3/12 at 10:16 pm to tehchampion140
Good leave Gordon, Cant you see I dont want you anymore!

Let's put it this way, either he doesn't want to play here or he needs to fire the guy that writes his "prepared statements"

if it's a prepared statement, it could have been much better than saying his heart is in phoenix.

What's the deal with not being able to trade with the Suns? I wouldn't hate some combo of Marshall/Gortat/picks (not necessarily all of these)
