Watching the play again, I have no clue what Lonzo was thinking.
He gets the ball with the entire right side of the court wide open to run the ball across half court.
Instead, he jab-steps right and run TOWARDS the trap and turns the ball over.

It's hard to win when your bench shoots 8 - 24. The bright spot there tonight was Jaxson, who was 4 - 5. Bad shooting from JJ and Hart killed us.

As your starting point guard, you get the ball and call timeout in that situation. He knew it was a 3 on 2 situation and when Redick fell to the floor, he should have received the pass and called timeout to advance it.

SVG might need a game manager next to him, because its literally unexplainable that he didn't call a timeout after Oladipo made the first 3.
You call timeout and advance the ball specifically so you don't turn it over on their side of the court. You DEFINITELY CALL TIMEOUT after you stupidly didn't do it before, and your team is struggling to get it over half court.
It’s a frustrating loss but literally the first thing SVG said in his press conference when Jen asked “is this a teachable moment for your guys” was “yeah but it’s for me, I screwed up as a coach by not calling a timeout or advancing the ball. That’s all we had to do”

1 thing we may not have discussed much was Zion played impressive face up D tonight on Sabonis. Felt like he did just as well as Adams.
Ten rebounds was also solid.

Lol all the Lonzo stans on the Youtube Postgame want to see Lonzo run the offense and want him to be traded.

Yea tonight was zion's best defensive performance as a pro.
It sucks we lost but I see a lot of positives from tonight.

BI is just too inefficient with the end game iso ball
And for those that are downvoting me because you’re dumb. Shamit posted his 4th quarter stats this season on his twitter. Spoilers: it’s not good. But that’s not his fault. This roster needs to improve/shooting.

100%. Too tight. Too many minutes for guys that are struggling. Too many odd pairings.
He seems to be getting worse with it instead of better. He had some good stuff pairing wise in preseason and the first 3 games. Now it looks like shite.
Yep. JJ is just bad atm this season (1-9 and he normally plays for his shooting) but SVG gives him 35 minutes and forget Kira...
Give others guys minutes.
Decrease a player's time when you see that he's playing shite in the match and better manage the minutes of the best players of match.

And what were his 4th quarter stats coming into this game? Because tonight was by far his worst go in the 4th. He had been very solid to good before tonight.

Stats/Comments from Sham:
Brandon Ingram is 8/28 (28.6%) for 27 points in the 4th quarter this season so far.
He has a USG of 36.4%. The Pels late game offense has to change.

Could it be because his USG during the rest of the game is so high since none of our other bench players can hit shots? I mean BI is out there with 4 players that don't get buckets.

he was 2/7 in the 4th tonight so going into tonight he was 6/21 (28.6% just like rn) in the 4th

Yes more than likely. I’m not bashing Bi in anyway. The rest of our team needs to be better. We lack facilitators (BI is the only real one) and shot creators.

Zo hitting shots
Zion playing really solid D on an allstar foward
Hayes looking 100x better than he did in the first 4 games.
Lots to improve on but definitely some bright spots.

BI gets a pass from me because he's literally the only perimeter player on the team that can get his own shot.
Zion gets doubled and tripled and we have no shooters to make teams pay for that, so the whole offense ends up on BI's shoulders.

I wouldn't worry too much about the stat. It doesn't tell the entire story. We have Ingram in 4th quarter to close the game at around the 6 minute mark all season so far. Our closing lineup is not ideal for spacing with Zion and Adams. He's being forced to take a lot of difficult shots from 18ft out. Tonight was the first time he's been able to get to the rack at a good rate down the stretch. Part of it was because Zion was on the bench in OT and the other part was because their bigs were in foul trouble.
Ingram will get better and this is part of the development that needs growth and experience in order for him to become a superstar. I don't care if people complain about percentages, we need him to continue taking over in the 4th until Zion is ready to share the load.
