Players top priorities are: Money, winning, and minutes

We can offer minutes/role but so can a lot of other teams. We can offer money, but so can everyone else. And we can't offer a guarantee at winning at a high level

So I think that it's a safe assumption that we won't be at the top of anyone's wish list, and the only way we get guys is if we outbid everyone else. Which, in this market, means a vast overpay

So having a young franchise player like AD is not much of an allure to these guys? Is that an indication of lack of faith in our coaching and/or management to build a winner?

I've been saying that for a while now. We can't afford Batum's Max and we fired his good friend Monty Williams. Was never a legit possibility IMO.

Uncle Al plays Drake at practice, though!!!!

From THEIR perspective, what has AD done in the NBA? There are 20-30 guys with better resumes. Players aren't like us. They don't project what might happen years from now. AD is not a guy that players are dying to play with.. Yet

I guess we will see where Batum goes (if he leaves Charlotte). I guess I am a little confused as to his reported interest in Dallas and the Lakers. I would think playing with AD would offer more hope than those two situations.

Lakers also have a good young core and have promise. Plus Our medical staff is getting a bad reputation in the league

Which also means we don't get guys who will be maxed unless we are the only ones who will go there. This was always the case though. Batum was never a legit option for the Pels. Parsons probably has suitors willing to max him though better shot at him due to the injuries.

ETA - And Parson now meeting with the Blazers tonight/tomorrow.

Lakers have cheap assets, piles of cash, and LA minus Kobe.

I'm surprised the blazers are meeting with Parsons I figured they would just re-sign there own guys and go after a big like Horford Whiteside or Dwight

Which is why it makes 0 sense to chase established guys. Go after young guys who have shown potential. Guys like Lin and Conley will have plenty of suitors I see no chance at either. We only get Turner who I don't want if we over pay him. He was a mess on every team but the Celtics and he would revert to his old self here.
