He improved last year, and has just fallen off this year (3pt shooting at least).
His defense has fallen off too. All of his advanced stats are the worst since his rookie year.

Not really.... Dyson isn't going to suddenly be a good shooter. There's enough of a sample size to say he's probably going to be always be mediocre shooting who can get streaky. His free throw percentage is a good indicator. Now you can hope he becomes an outlier and buck the trend but I wouldn't gamble on that.
Without getting too deeply into the weeds...there's a fairly large "school of thought" that thinks Aussie players are, by and large, quite a bit below average on outside shooting due to the nature of their basketball training as they develope in their youth. Kinda the exact opposite of the European players.
Who knows...but it seems there's a whole bunch of really lousy Aussie shooters out there...in the NBA. VERY good players...but VERY bad...outside shooters.
FWIW: DD, for the season, is now down to 13.7% on 3s at 7-52 through 30 games. Being totally ignored at the 3-pt line...with "5s" guarding him more & more often...by just standing in the paint & daring him to shoot.

Come on, Willie is to blame for a good bit of stuff, but he's not to blame for shooting struggles for a guy that he hasn't coached in over a year. He improved last year, and has just fallen off this year (3pt shooting at least). That ain't on Willie.
you don't think his overall growth stunted because of willie?
Make a single mistake or miss a 3, he got pulled with a quickness and never left the bench quite often. Only forced to watch Hawkins, Marshall, and Alvarado do equally stupid things to play 5-10+ minutes compared to him.

I think as soon as he left here the next season he made so much growth he was named the most improved player in the entire NBA. No, I do not think his growth two seasons removed has anything to do with Willie.
