Trey Murphy whining that a young player is holding him during practice pretty much sums up this pels team. Soft physically and mentally. Trey is a good example. He’s making $30 mil a year, not a leader, not a ball handler, not that good at defense, not that good at rebounding and not that good at scoring around the basket.

You wish tm3 took the leap that Jalen Johnson did.
But the more I watch this team this year the more I wanna rebuild without griffin and green. Give the next regime a chance to decide on this core

Treys numbers/percentages are steadily climbing and will continue to with ingram out and we play less iso ball.

Just a bunch of young rich dudes enjoying life. None of them actually care about basketball or winning. It’s not like it’s their job or anything.

Interesting take considering the numbers shown on the Pels game last week show Trey shoots significantly better when he plays with Ingram. .

The context is the key here. He's going to get a lot more opportunities by default. There's a lot of shots to go around without BI and Z there.
We already started to see that during the last game as well as the second half of the OKC game with the amount of flare screens we ran with him and thay continued with the Spurs game.
He's going to continue to play big minutes with a PG who is getting them into sets much quicker and running P&R action as the primary action to open up the perimeter.
Ingram is a very good offensive player who carries this team on his back offensively but the nature of his style of play leaves everyone else standing around. Not completely his fault but that's the result of the offense Willie implemented over the years.
With both BI and Z gone, they have no choice but to get more creative and they've already started to incorporate more sets based on the practice interviews in the last couple of days.

The Hawks ratcheted up their defense after halftime, forcing the Knicks into three 24-second violations. Guard Dyson Daniels, arguably the league's most disruptive defender through the first third of the season, bottled up Brunson and held him to 14 points -- his second-lowest total of the season -- on 15 shot attempts

It's disappointing we couldn't figure out how to get herb and daniels on the court at the same time.
You see what OKC and Houston are doing? That's what we should have been

The amount of fans that argued about his offense while ignoring me saying elite defender, ELITE DEFENDER, elite defense, etcc.....
The amount of times I said it and y'all still made me look like an a-hole....
I don't want to stir anything up but i do laugh at the ignorance of this board and the audacity some people have with almost negative common sense.
Hopefully Yaz can show some of you to just shut the frick up every now and then and try to understand instead of arguing about every little thing.

I tried explainign this to everyone in the offseason. We had 20 somethign games of Trey with no BI at the end of the season. CJ is the one that stepped up, not Trey. And i'm not saying Trey didn't play well b/c he did, just saying he didn't do more when the opportunity presented itself. He was just his normal good basketball player Trey. But some people thought he could replace BI's offense despite the proof staring them in the face that he's not that player, and again, that's not a knock on him.
Role players need the star players to absorb the brunt of the defense so they can thrive. BI is the star player. No he's not Luka star level obviously, but he's still our guy that gets the defense's attention every single game. It's important that attention is on him, so guys like CJ and Trey can excel at their roles. CJ can be a bit inbetween that star player and role player, and we saw last year that he can be an elite role player. His numbers are a lot different when he's the #1/#2 option as opposed to the #3 option. And that's no different for Trey. When he's the #3 option on the court, he's dangerous. If he's #1 or #2, he's going to struggle.
It would really be nice if we coudl have our 2 star players playing and being the focal point of the defense, while those fringe star players in CJ and Murray can excel in their role off the ball and sometimes on it, and role players like Trey and Hawk can thrive in their off ball roles. The talent on this team is ridiculous. It's just a shame we'll never see them play together.

Because Trey can't create for shite.
He has a good 3 ball and when he doesn't then he's usually mediocre to average player.
We would be fricked if he's getting the #1-#2 defender every game

Yes I know, but many on here thought he could improve his game and replace BI's production.
Trey is not going to create for himself or anyone else on his own.
Now if he's running around screens or even just standing at the 3 point line and has the ball thrown to him, then he can create b/c his defender has to close out hard on him or he's going to shoot the 3. Trey has gotten better at getting in the lane and finishing when he's run off the 3 point line.
But there's a huge difference between being run off the 3 point line after a pass and getting in the lane, and having the ball already in your hand outside the 3 point line and you have to dribble past a defender who isn't closing out on you.

The problem is that we have (2) players not named Murray (excluding Jose) that can "dribble"
CJ/ BI. Both Very bad PG options.
Jose doesn't move the needle if we are being honest.
So we have 1 player who can facilitate and only (2) other players who know what to do with the ball after they get it besides shoot. And those same 2 people can't facilitate.
IMO the best scenario is keep BI, trade both Zion/ CJ, and hope Trey can develop more game. Hawk can replace CJ now for what we get and we can get a cheap vet 3pt shooter.
I'm also one of the few people ok with attaching Jose and/or a 1st with CJ to save space and get a better player.

The Hawks are an interesting team. They are basically going with an 8-man rotation. Their 3 'bench' guys (Hunter, Bogdanovic and Okongwu) would normally be starters. But they are feasting against 2nd units and playing major minutes. It allows Capella, Daniels and the rookie to start and focus on defense (Young and Johnson have a green light). It's a nice mix. But they are screwed when they get a couple of injuries..

Been said that. If your leadership and coach has no fire, your players won't have any fire either.

I mean they’re getting paid 10s of millions of dollars to be pretty good not great basketball players. When you’ve won life already I’m sure a lot of them just don’t have the drive to keep pushing. It’s human nature for most.

Only a matter of time for hunter. But Snyder is a fricking elite coach who somehow gets guys to buy in defensively.

There was a small sample size games with them both starting together.
Our lineup with them was the best of the season. I pointed this out in the offseason and posted the numbers.
