Westbrook wasn't very good at creating his own shot at UCLA...

Oladipo is a do it all, hustle guy.

Mclemore is an actual legit shooter.

Westbrook is excellent at creating his own shot. Dude could play 1 on 5 sometimes

Yeah, Westbrook is excellent at creating his shot now, but people forget how limited his offense was in college.

What surprised me the most was his handles. Usually hustle guys, like Oladipo, have a very poor handle. Oladipo can put the ball on the hardwood from the perimeter and get to the rim.

Granted, I only saw him play this one game.

I think he'll be a beast defensively but not great on offense. Either way he doesn't fit with the Hornets.

How does he not fit the Pelicans?

I disagree

I'll take all the competent guards I can have on this roster

Especially if the rumors about Gordon are true, and he's moved after the season

That said, I'm still firmly on the Otto Porter bandwagon

Cause he's a 2 and Gordon and Rivers aren't going anywhere. If we hadn't drafted Rivers I'd take him.

I'd take this guy in a heartbeat.

Dickie V and Magic said his game is similar to Jordan during the game today.

Don't think you can just cross off all shooting guards in the draft because of Gordon and Rivers.

Gordon has played in less than 25% of his games since coming to New Orleans, and is also the center of trade speculation.

Rivers hasn't proven to even be a rotational player.

Hardly. The speculation is "will he be traded? No?" That's not real speculation in my book. The only media member who thinks he will or should be traded is Fletcher Mackel.

Sure but I don't think they're ready to give up on him yet.

No one's giving up on Rivers.

I'm just not completely writing off SG in this draft because of Gordon and Rivers, and I hope the F.O does not either. If they feel the best player available is at the SG position, then that should be the pick

I know that some will laugh at this, but he has a pretty similar playing style to Michael Jordan in college. Not saying that he is Michael Jordan material, but they both have great great work ethics and just like MJ, Oladipo has shown steady improvement shooting the ball from Mid Range/3. They both are tremendous on defense as well. Oladipos athleticism is right on par with Jordan's too.

You expect Gordon to be here by the end of next season?

Oladipo is looking like he could be a damn good get. I'd really like to grab him. I'm not worried about Rivers. Either produce or get the hell out of the way. We need more decent guards. Oladipo is definitely solid on offense and he seems to have all the defensive tools you'd need. I hope he slides to us.

It's certainly not out of the question. There is just so much inertia involved in moving a player like him that I am not convinced either way.

I know it's not out if the question, but once the media starts running with it like they have, they almost are never kept. Same can be said about the fan backlash.

He'd have to come out next year and be healthy up until the deadline in order to be kept. If that happens it leaves us in quite the predicament

They use this hyperbole for every game.

Cody Zeller has moves like Jabaar in the paint!

Tack Minor is the next Allen Iverson!

This is the best game I've seen all year! (said for every good game).

Anyway, Oladipo is the type of guy I wouldn't necessarily want for the Pels, but if he was drafted, I couldn't be mad at it. He definitely has all the intangibles and isn't a bitch.
