just want a guy who doesn’t take 2 years to effing develop.
I was just reading a Memphis feed.
at #17 they are looking at 6 5 wings who play defense and can shoot.
the pels board suffers from negatiger attitudes.
I dont care if Guy xyz is rated 9th or 16th if I'm picking 10th.
i take best as I see it. 24 yrs old. fine.

That Cleveland defensive potential would look pretty nice with Okoro, Mobley, and Allen. Would definitely make things a lot easier for them if Mobley is there.

that's my pick at 10. Always has been, even before i knew this great measurement.

I'd be estatic if we can get Moody, Bassey, and Juzang in this draft.

If we do actually pick at 10 and he's there, I'd be pretty happy with Moody.

New Kevin O'Connor mock has Pels taking Kispert. Moody slides to 15. LINK
His Kispert comps: Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Harris, Gary Trent Jr.
His Moody comps: Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Morris Peterson

Every team needs shooting. The Pelicans ranked 25th in 3-point attempts per game and 26th in percentage last season. Pairing a selfless shooter like Kispert in an up-tempo offense featuring Zion Williamson could generate more shots and increase the team’s overall success on that end. Kispert underwhelmed in the national title game, but that shouldn’t change the fact that he has a proven track record as a knockdown shooter.
Heady, competitive player who can drain 3-pointers and find ways to help a team win.

Kispert makes little sense as I don't believe he can play SG defensively and would make a really undersized PF. With Naji, Didi, Ingram, and potentially Hart, Moody makes so much more sense since he has the makeup and defensive tools to play multiple positions at a high level.

Yeah I'm not on the Kispert train either. If he slides to the 20s and you can get him there, absolutely. Otherwise, if I want shooting I'm going high upside at 10 and looking at Chris Duarte or Trey Murphy III at the end of the first/early second.

I'm on the duarte train.
Trade back and grab him
He can do more than just shoot the ball.
If i stay at 10 im praying moody is there.

Jeremy Woo did a mock draft giving us Keon at 10, Isaiah Todd at 35, JT Thor at 40, Juhann Begarin at 43, and Rokas Jokubaitis at 53. LINK
I'd prefer Giddey who he has at 13 or Moody who he has at 16. With Murphy, Duarte, and Christopher off the board, give me Primo or Hyland at 35. Nooo way we get Thor at 40 but that would be insane value.
-----------------
On another note, NBA combine is on ESPN2 at 2pm CST. The scrimmages today are end of the 1st/second round caliber players. For the LSU fans, Trendon Watford will be playing.
quote:
The Pelicans’ roster figures to look different next season with Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart hitting restricted free agency, but defensive toughness has been a long-standing area of need, and they could be in need of backcourt depth. Opinions vary widely on Johnson, but his upside may be more appealing to New Orleans here than drafting for immediate need. He’s an explosive athlete with a defensive-oriented mentality, but has a long way to go skill-wise and is a bit undersized for a wing. If he’s drafted in the top ten, it’s primarily off potential, and he’s unlikely to be an immediate high-level producer. But if his shooting improves, his upside as a high-level complementary piece is tantalizing. The hope is he can tackle tough defensive assignments, slash to the rim, and knock down shots enough to keep people honest.

I am not as high on Moody as some on this board, but I think he fits well for what we need. I think he can be a rotation member from day one, with upside to become like the 4th best player on a good/very good team.

That's funny because I would absolutely love Bridges or Anunoby on this team.

Kind of where I'm at too. Personally I think his upside is a little higher than that if he learns how to create separation or he masters shooting and moving off the ball. Not sure that he gets there though because that's not exactly low hanging fruit. Like you said though, he's as good bet as any to be able to step in and give good rookie minutes and he's a pretty seamless fit.
At 10, I would be ecstatic to get Barnes and would move assets to trade up for him. Very happy with Giddey. Happy with Moody, Wagner, Mann, Ziaire, Garuba, and maybe Thor. Don't want Kispert or Davion at 10 and don't really want to take the Keon or Jalen Johnson gambles though I like the intensity Keon plays with.

I just feel like Giddey's shot is so freaking slow and unnatural. But I'll stop harping on him.
Moody and Kispert are much smoother.
I like that Kispert is very active without the ball always moving. Giddey freaking stands around.
I don't think he really fits a need, but the player I'm most impressed watching highlights is Sengun!
Not sure if he would be exposed defensively. He's not a shooter but can pass really well.
Man, 10 years ago, this guy could be the No. 1 pick.
Check this dude out! His footwork is amazing and better than any NBA player I've seen since Duncan. It's a lost art and beautiful to see him use his pivot like prime McHale.

Then get him to push the ball up court T Young style

He seems like more of a mid-20’s guy right?
Posted on 6/24/21 at 4:59 pm to Fun Bunch
Yeah seems like Sharife has been trending late 1st. Trajan may have wanted to see if that 6'4" height was real.
I noticed they removed his measurements from the site.
