With Naji playing like he is and getting a contract, does that make Hart expendable?

Assuming Bledsoe and Lonzo are gone, we'll obviously have the space but if he comes out asking 4 years/12 million per, I think we let him walk. His shooting hasnt been great but he obviously bring a lot to the table. I hope he's around 4/9 per or 3/10 per and you have to bring him back for that.

What are you expecting?

I think there are only 2 reasons they don't bring him back.

He gets an offer far enough over the MLE that they don't want to match it.

or

They decide to overpay Lonzo and decide that means they can't afford to keep Hart, even at a reasonable price.

I don't expect either of those 2 things to happen though.

In what world is Hart getting 15 mil a year. Unless you mean 4 years 15 mil total. In which case that’s a steal

I think Hart gets 4 years $46 million or $11.5 mil/yr. That’s a little over the $9-10 that I’m sure the Pels prefer to pay but also less than the $15 million I’m sure Hart’s agent would love to get. I think that’s a very reasonable number that both sides would be happy with. It’s hard to quantify what Hart brings to the team but his loss has been greatly felt in the loss of energy on the floor. He just makes guys give that extra effort and your star players love having a guy like that.

If Griff and Trajan didn't think they would be able to keep Josh, his name would have been floated at the trade deadline to get assets in return rather than losing him for nothing.

Naji, Bledsoe, Adams, Ball, none of them have any bearing on whether we keep Josh or not. He will sign for around MLE price, as that will be his market with a bunch of contenders after him.

David Fisher put out some new cap numbers today after the Naji signing. The Pels will be $28 million away from the tax line before resigning Ball/Hart/Johnson. I’d say what happens with Bledsoe and Ball will have a significant impact on how much they can pay Hart.

I think one or both of Bledsoe/Ball are gone because they do plan to keep Hart.

Hart is more important than Zo.

Nobody will have any bearing on that. If we want to keep Ball and Hart they will use a 1st and dump Bledsoe.

If they decide to keep Bledsoe as trade fodder, then Ball will be gone.

There's many different scenarios, none of them tied specifically to another as to what we can/will do.

Maybe nobody will keep the team from keeping Hart, but keeping Hart will have consequences on somebody. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I just seen his tweet, his numbers also include 9 million for the MLE, so essentially we would have 37 million below the tax.

Plenty

I agree though, I want Bledsoe gone, and anything over 15 million a year, I want Ball gone also.

Theres a 3rd, and as a huge Josh Hart fan, its tough to stomach.

His strength is also his weakness.

Hes a versatile 2/3. But he is a sub part starting 2 and an undersized 3. And youll have to pay a premium for that "versatility".

Yes. Next question.

All bullshite aside, I may cancel my tix if we don’t keep Josh. He isn’t THE guy, but we need to build this team around Zion with guys like Josh.

Nobody with space will, there's other guys they would spend it on. The only teams to worry about would be contenders, and they all would come in at MLE level money.

Pels are going to attach a pick to Bledsoe and jettison him, correct?

More likely that we are going to attach three or four picks to Bledsoe and get a great player back.

I can't objectively answer that question because my Fandom overrides a lot with Josh. To me keeping him is huge.
