AD will never be a big in the sense of a shaq. He'll be at best which is awesome an athletic timmy duncan/ kevin garnett type player and defensive presense. But to win a championship in today's game, you got to have a impact scorer seems like at the guard or forward position. We thought Gordon was going to be the piece, obviously there's some turmoil here and stability concerns.

Basically what i'm getting at is we have to swing for the fence for the Paul George type player in the draft.

Not as much as they used to, clearly.

You MUST have that wing player now a days. We certainly need a wing to pair with Davis.

Unless our goal, at first, is to just be really competitive as a small market team. Small market teams seem to be successful lately in being "big".

Paul George was the #10 pick, picked one pick ahead of the Hornets I guess what you're saying is we should trade back with someone who wants a guy at 6 and then pick someone like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope at 7-10.

we need to just draft the best scoring wing/ defensive ability player we can find at 6. or maybe make a move upwards if needed to secure that player. (otto porter/oladipo type guy)

they would dominate if they would coexist with good coaching and team management. there are more bigs coming into the league now than in the 90's. the difference is that they are all now expected to become dominant overnight or they're bust. too many teams are using pf's at center and dont quite know what to do from there.

It depends. Do you consider Anthony Bennett a wing? If you think he can play the 3 (he thinks he can), then you have one of the best players in the draft at 6. He's got really great scoring ability, and a unique offensive skillset where he can post up, play low and high, and even hit 3s. You just have to know if he can defend 3s.

If not, the next two best are either going to be:

Dario Saric, a euro who is a Point Forward with excellent excellent ball-handling skills and passing ability, nice size...but can't shoot worth a shite yet and is an abysmal free throw shooter.

Or Kentavius Caldwell-Pope, a 6'6" SG/SF who is a very good scorer playing off the ball but isn't a very efficient player.

What about acquiring pick #13 from Dallas and going with Saric? 6''10" wing who is playing very well in Europe..could develope into a Dirk type player one day..we need to make a move, it's time to take a chance.

* I agree FunBunch

what is this based on? %'s? cause you know euros shoot a shite ton more outside shots than murricans. bringing on lower %'s.

He shot 39% from 2 on 33/84 shooting and 30% from 3 on 10/33 shooting. Overall that's 36%. He went 20/40 from the stripe for 50%. That was in the Adriatic League.

That is bad from 3 (especially with a closer line) and dreadful from the line.

Every report I've seen says he's just not a good shooter yet, but has the mechanics to get better. He is an EXCELLENT ball-handler and passer though. Like, really exceptional in that regard.

He would fit in well in NOLA though:

Lots of Croatians in Plaquemines Parish too. He could live out in Belle Chasse and get some oyster leases.

Except for Jordan's Bulls, it's damn near impossible to find a championship team without an All-Star power forward or center.
