Did Herb shut him down or was Kawhi just off?? (Assuming Herb, but could have been multiple)

Herb put him in jail. It was a thing of beauty. Herb even get elbowed in the eye by fricking lemon head and no foul was called. Herb was out for a bit but came back in and locked him down again. Ty was so brilliant that after the third quarter he emptied the bench and never put the starters back in.

Herb was fighting through screens and making Kawhi’s life absolute hell. He couldn’t hit anything.

Herb is just as responsible for us winning big as BI and Trey

I posted this exact post probably 15 times but I'll still never understand why we've had multiple ejections for unintentional elbows, but can't seem to ever get even just a review all the times the same thing has happened to the Pels.

But also, that was a defensive clinic from Herb last night, just amazing.

To be fair, Kawhi also got unintentionally elbowed in the face and no foul was called. Both are tough players who don't complain much but Herb was the only one who stayed in the game.

More from Second Spectrum:

Kawhi shooting 1-of-8 vs. Herb is the lowest field goal percentage he’s had against a single player who defended at least 5 shots in a game against him in last 3 years.

There’s been 62 instances of a player defending 5+ shots vs Kawhi in last 3 years.

Lue honestly emptied the bench with 6 mins left in the 3rd Q lol

Also, Kawhi was ruled out with a facial contusion at one point

But Herb did definitely shut him down. Kawhi would’ve had to shoot 30 times to approach 25 points last night.

Kawhi was 1-8 shooting against herb last night. Lowest % in the last three years by kawhi against a single defender

He did. That and a missed back court call are about the only two favorable calls we got all night.
