Did the media forget that Lonzo doesn't want to come to NO?

Why the hell do they keep trying to make Lonzo a thing? He's a good defender, but can't shoot to save his life and he's got daddy issues

They are ignoring that part because they want AD in LA and don’t particularly care how they get him there.

There's a zero percent chance Griffin would take on the Ball headache. Lakers know they need to flip him for an asset, thus all the rumors about the 6th and 7th overall picks.

Lonzo could be a very good player next to Holiday.

It would form the best defensive back court in the league.

With Zion going to New Orleans the media will be there like it was with Lebron in Cleveland.

"The media" are largely clickbait mongers who dutifully report anything they are fed in order to cultivate or retain access. Everyone wins, except the people who take it seriously.

Lonzo split with BBB recently, which may be a precursor for him getting out from under his dad’s wings.

I've seen a decent amount of respectable experts feel Lonzo is one of the Lakers with the most upside. I think it's the old "if he could learn to shoot he'd be awesome" delusion. It "happened" for Jason Kidd, but people seem to forget he was 31 by the time he became an average 3 point shooter. Rondo looks like he's finally becoming an average low volume 3 point shooter, but it didn't happen for him until 29. It's not like either of them were still young and adding a 3 point shot let them average 20/10 with great defense.

He increased his 3pt % to 33% this past year, his shot has gotten much better since his horrific start of his career.

If he could lose the drama and get heathy, I think he could be a good fit for a fast paced offense. He fits well next to Jrue, IMO

His FT% gotten any better?

Maybe Shaq could give him lessons.

He’s a god awful free throw shooter

ETA: but so was Rondo and he was a good fit next to Jrue. I think he could be at least as good as Rondo was for the Pels offensively, and much better defensively with much higher upside/potential.

ETA2: regardless, I doubt a deal gets done with the Lakers. The Pels blame them for the AD stuff (probably deservedly so).

Ball is undervalued. His ceiling is still very high. It has been proven that Walton does not develop players. Look at Randle and Russell. Ball will thrive away from his dad and with good coaching.

Right now the rumors are Ball going to Phoenix or Chicago for their pick this year so the Lakers can offer pick 4, pick 6 or 7, and Ingram for Davis.

If I were the Pelicans I would try to get the Lakers to trade Ingram for the 6th or 7th pick and include Ball in the trade.

I’m trying not to take blame into it at this point. I’m just honestly underwhelmed by their pieces.

Their current players aren’t as good as Boston’s. Their picks aren’t as good as New York’s. And the whole package doesn’t come off better than either.

The main way we would take this would be if we had teams ready to trade for various pieces of it such as Ingram, Ball, and/or Kuzma.

Don’t forget that he’s injury prone. Lonzo Ball is probably the last player in the nba I would want at the pelicans. We don’t need the type of culture his dad brings because everybody sticks a microphone in front of him.

Thing is, they are right. But that is more indictment of the Lakers prospects on the whole. He also brings his dad's habitually disruptive behavior with him.

Did he say this or are you talking about the interview where his dad was talking about all the snow we get in N.O?

Ingram was better than Tatum and Brown this year.

Lonzo will have to find a new wish team to go to once garland drafted by suns. We have Zion and maybe AD. He better wish to come here if he had a brain.

Lonzo is garbage.

If the lakers would have gotten the 2nd or 3rd pick this would have been interesting but they can’t seriously think we’re going to trade Anthony Davis for Derrick Hunter and a shite load of scrubs that couldn’t even make the playoffs with LeBron.

LA has one asset worth AD and I’m pretty sure he has a no-trade clause.
