The problem is that probably over half of his posts he's not presenting any opinion at all, so more often than not, he's just a troll poster who brings nothing to the table.

The connection stuff is fine, awesome for the board. But other than the troll stuff, I don't think he gives much(or nearly as much as some think) with his opinions, they're most cliche and I haven't really seen much actual good opinion stuff from him. It's just whatever.

You can’t attack people’s intelligence and not expect to get attacked in return. I’ve made it pretty clear I value your opinion and take the insults with a grain of salt, but not everyone is going to share the same opinion as me.

There’s just no reason to go after people’s intelligence on a message board man. I’m being serious when I say that I wish you’d learn that lesson. You could be one of, if not THE, top posters in almost everyone’s mind if you didn’t result to the constant belittling. There’s no reason to desire the conflicts you bring upon yourself, and the board and your time on it would be more pleasurable if we got the “intelligent, analytical, polite” Crewz instead of the “angry, arrogant, belitting” Crewz, that would be a good thing.

I’ve said the same in a roundabout way to corndeaux of late and he got defensive and tried to insult me, so I’m not picking on any one person. We got a lot of great minds and personalities on this board, but the negativity is just winning the day right now.

By the way, I also realize I could work on some of this myself. I am guilty of it too, and I do try.

And it should. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan if being an a-hole to guys for no reason like he does, even guys asking honest questions he'll attack. But even if he just did a tiny little bit of that or a variation of that, no one would pay much attention. The problem he got himself into is that has become his entire schtick and main source of posting, so of course, that's what he will be known for, and of course any other even insightful posts will get lost in the shuffle. That's all some pretty captain obvious shite, and I'm not sure why he's so surprised that the persona he created and wanted to maintain is going to be attacked/mocked relentlessly.

Until he changes his posting style and abandons the a-hole/troll stuff, the majority of the board will continue to come after him and probably should, if we're being honest.

I can only speak for myself, but corndeaux, tigerinatl, and you are the three posters that when they dial in and discuss hoops elevate the level of this board. The only reason I even bother is because I was here when PT talked hoops and it was a conversation. I probably naively believe that we could at least move the bar a little towards that spectrum again.

That’s not discounting any other posters but I’ve seen some just elite level content from that trio. There are other great posters like teddy that I really enjoy the effort put in and look forward to hearing their opinions as well even if they’re different from mine. But corn and ATL carried this place for a long time with their efforts. And I’ve seen you dial in/produce content elsewhere and thought you could be that type of personality.

I can’t be that type of person for instance. My writing level is sophomoric and I don’t have the level of study in some of these advanced pods and websites to break it down and share. I just have a ton of experience watching Pels basketball and try my best to pay attention to the subplots from my perch up in the balcony. It’s not enough.

I love Pels Talk man. It sucks for everyone when it’s not as good as it can be. You can play your schtick if you want, whatever makes you tick. Just thought I’d share where I was coming from.

ETA: I highly doubt I’m the only person who feels a nostalgic connection to this board of all the boards. Politics haven’t penetrated it. Trolls mostly stay away. We’ve (as in all of us that helped bulld this place) managed to keep it on the right path despite all the vitriol online. It’s had some great runs and some really cool traditions. So yeah, Pels Talk is my shiiiiiit (to use another Key and Peele reference). Theres not really another community that’s like that on the open internet, at least not one that I participate in. It’s really cool.
