Keeping CP3 makes us ore valuable to a potential owner and makes them more money.

So, you don't think any potential owners can see that next season his investment would be cut in half instantly when CP3 leaves next season? I personally wouldn't invest in the Hornets until the CP3 situation is resolved and I damn sure wouldn't spend a load of money knowing CP3 isn't going to be here. If that's the case, I would just wait until CP3 leaves after this season when the price of the team drops and then offer to buy it.

How long is Bledsoe going to be out for?

What am I missing here? I have been doing google searches to see why he will be out, but haven't seen anything. Why will he be out, especially for two years, like the poster below you stated?

I think he had a torn pectoral muscle or something. Should be out for all of January

I would think having a young star like Eric Gordon will add close to the same value that the team currently has with CP

Most of us here would see it that way but overall you gotta remember basketball is more of a casual fans sport. Its all about having superstars on your team and Gordon isnt a star yet. I mean look at Danny Granger, how is he not a household name yet?

I may be too pessimistic but unless a deal actually goes through we should start preparing ourselves for a long rebuilding process.

That is the case. Surgery on Oct 7. Will be out and additional 6-8 weeks. So...why he would be a sticking point is absolutely beyond me.

This makes it sound like we're playing Chicken with the Clippers.

quote:

Kevin Arnovitz: @Rohan_Cruyff NOH has 1 primary objective: Keep the balance sheet light. If CP3 walks, so be it. Strip the team down, put it on the block.

Challenge for Clippers in CP3 deal: 'Letting-him-walk-for-nothing' isn't the plague for the Hornets that it would be for most franchises.

In other words we are seeing their threats of "Take what we offered or you lose him for nothing" with "So what?"

If the deal is Gordan, the unprotected 1st, Kaman, and Aminu that is more than fair to both teams.

Why the frick would the league refuse that? Why would the Clippers refuse that?

Because the league owns the team and only cares about having a minimal payroll.

Dropping $16m off that payroll serves their purposes, even if it fricks fans of the team.

There is no single owner watching his team fall apart.

Because they're about to sell the team. It's the next guy's problems. The new owner is buying a team not a specific set of players.
