I'm hoping it's not. We supposedly were paying that price for Fox (via Sabonis). Surely even Griff can't value CJ the same as Fox.

Also, the reports of the Blazers not wanting future money back mean they want to dump money. If they don't make a deal with the Pels now, they will be paying to dump CJ down the line.

All Griff has to do is not be an idiot and he can have a decent deal.

Looking like Hart is the only noteworthy player and picks. I'm guessing we're giving a hearty amount of picks if it's just Hart + matching salary or something

Im guessing Hart Sato and Temple

End of an era for the Trail Blazers and their McCollum-Damian Lillard backcourt. Portland worked to acquire assets in McCollum deal and send him to a good situation.

Honestly, I love the deal. We don't give up any young players that developing and we free up more time for Herb to get minutes.

Man, I love Josh Hart.

And I hate giving up multiple picks for a dude like CJ. One pick that's protected, in this market...fine.

Bright side to CJ is he's the president of the players union, that may carry a little weight with free agents that would be choosing between us or someone else.

Temple is also a Vice President of the Executive Committee. We finna run the association!

Wait until you see the picks before you decide if you love it or not.

The picks are obviously going to be key. Is it 2 FRPs? 1 FRP and multiple SRPs? What are the protections? But I like no Jax or Trey in the deal.

Like I said before, I don't give a shite about the picks. We have enough pieces to compete.

I'm ready to burn these assets.

Burn them right or you are just creating the next Portland/Rockets/Lakers/Washington/Celtics situation where you burn through all your assets on the wrong players, or pay too high a price, then are left selling off the team like Portland is doing for us because the team has maxed out and your stars are frustrated.

The draft picks going out will be key, because if it's some ridiculous Jrue like compensation it will potentially close our flexibility real quick

If its a protected first and seconds, Griff done really good

I love Josh Hart too. But you gotta pull the trigger for a guy like CJ imo. As far as the picks, I'm reserving judgement till I see how many. But I think we tend to overvalue 1 rounders. Especially at this stage of the rebuild. How many more young players do we have space for? And what are the odds we even hit on those picks in the first place? We need to start having some real success here before we totally lose Zion and BI

Same.

But I will say, Josh said himself he was 100% set on leaving New Orleans this offseason, then ended up signing a weird "trade me" contract.

Huge credit to him for balling this year though.
