What did he say for those of us who would rather listen to Joel and AD?

I really don’t think Z is near out of shape as they made it sound

Yes I think he could be in better shape, but I think he’s pretty close to the shape he was in last December

I think the inside the NBA guys kind of just exposed how little Zion they watch

No way . Go look at Z that n training camp
Last year . Best shape he’s ever been since in since being in the nBA.

He came in this year well over 300lbs

he and kenny smith said they counted how many times he sprinted from one end of the floor to the other. they were waiting to count to 1.

Chuck said this is first Zion game he'd watch beginning to end.

They basically said that Zion mostly plays with talent and is very good but that he's often lazy and that if he'd hustle he could be special. I don't think that's really roasting him.

Chuck was saying nothing but the truth. Zion really does jog up and down the floor and he rarely sprints and I do think it has to do with him not being in ideal basketball shape for this level of play. Everybody on here will agree on the defensive side, Zion does play lazy most of the time.

I think Chuck is one of Zions biggest fan because he can see himself in Zion tbh. He knows Zion has all the potential and feels like Zion is just wasting it honestly.

It's pretty much spot on and what a lot of the criticism he receives on this board is over. They also criticized his rebounding, saying he should be in double digits

I actually liked what I saw from Zion today. He was getting after it on the defensive end to me.

Z plays in spurts on defense. But he also jogs around and ball watches an awful lot. I have zero doubt this is due to him not feeling in top shape.

Kenny and Chuck repeatedly used the phrase "basketball shape." When you aren't in basketball shape, Kenny said, you don't chase that rebound, you don't make it to that 50-50 ball, you don't get into that passing lane, you don't rotate for that weak side block. And all those are the things that take you from good to great.

I think this was a very spot on critique of where Z is at the moment. Kenny estimated Z was about a month away from playing himself into basketball shape. And that his game would elevate when that happens.

Product of him not having any kind of jumper or floater. He has to exert a lot to get to the rim through multiple defenders then run the full court and defend. Only so much a 300 lb man can do.

He qualified that not as just basketball shape, but in 30-45 days he thought we’d see the mythical Duke Zion.

He's clearly still not in shape. He looks so big out there. He just has to play his way into shape. He just doesnt look like a top 15 player yet. He looks like a top 30 player and we need him to be a top 10-15 player if we want to make noise

When it's a legitimate claim, I love it.

Z is incredible and we all know that. Now imagine if he gave the effort that Herb, Naji, Jose give. Maybe one of the all time greats.
