what are the other hornets blogs?

My twitter handle is the same as my name on here. I write for At The Hive, along with a guy named Rohan. The other Hornets blog is Hornets247, and they have a bunch of writers.

We wrote this: LINKin response to a bunch of BS in a Hornets article on his site. He didn't respond directly at any point and slipped that little comment in his power rankings.

Just Hornets Talk. Ownership rumors dragged me back in.

I do appreciate the work all of the Hornets bloggers do, but, honestly, who gives a frick about Chris Sheridan? Honestly, he's nobody. I wouldn't let him get under my skin.

Unfortunately, he's not a nobody. A lot of people form their opinions based on what these national writers say, and I hate that people get the wrong idea based on shoddy writing. I could care less what he thinks about me, but man up when your site runs something that is just wrong.

Sheridan's site linked to our rebuttal today.

Unfortunately, most of the writing that accompanies the link is more garbage (which I couldn't pass up commenting on in its comments section).

Man, it's nice to see people arguing the points of my total meltdown when they announced the Lakers trade as "done." I wonder why Dallas hasn't been able to flip Odom for Iggy, as everyone was implying would happen.

Maybe because Dallas is trying to shed salary not take on additional salary.

Or maybe it's because it was totally unrealistic. People were acting like the Odom/Iggy swap was a done deal to justify hoping for an outright bad trade. That would have gone down as all-time epic trade rape.

Because it wasn't Odom for Iggy, it was Odom and Ariza for Iggy...

Fair enough. Do you really think the Sixers take the trade, though? Remember, the best the Lakers could get for Odom was a salary dump.

Seriously, if that was a feasible outcome, it would have been a 4-team trade. Wouldn't we also have had to sit on Odom for a length of time before he could be packaged?

I don't think they would take it now with how they have been playing this year. At the beginning of the year I could see it happening. As for the Lakers, I thought they rushed the Odom trade. Maybe they thought they could land Howard before the season started but had to get rid of Odom's contract if they were to take back Hedo's as well.

I thought you had a window of a few days to re-trade a player then the waiting period comes in to play, but don't quote me on it.

I'm not buying it. In his prime, Odom was underwhelming. He's past his prime. He was just a bad contract to the Lakers. They weren't getting Paul AND Howard via trades. They didn't have the chips. They were hoping to get Paul, then entice Howard when he hits free agency. They still want to entice Howard, and need cap space to do so. That's why they dumped Odom.

Their plan was to get Paul and Howard via trade, and trading Odom was no where near enough for them to get Howard in free agency. It's a moot point now but reading Lakers boards with their own "inside sources" the plan before season started was to use Pau to get the PG and Bynum would be used to get Howard. They still had to get rid of Odom's contract in order to take Turkoglu's contract back in Howard deal.

Sure he never lived up to his skills, but he was the reigning 6th man of the year last year. Guy was far from a bad contract especially when he is an expirer himself.

It all could be wishful thinking but that's what I read on Lakers board
