We will get absoulutley nothing if we trade him to the Knicks. I say if he wants in New York so bad, then lets send him to the nets for D. Williams.

It seems like Boston would rent him at the very least.

Supposedly Ainge is gunning for CP3 and Dwight, which makes CP3's rejection of Boston surprising. But if that's what he's aiming for then "renting" CP3 makes signing Howard easier and signing Howard would help keep CP3 from just being a rental. I definitely agree that Boston is still in play which means the Clippers will pay more.

He won't be a knick. Not happening. Sorry Chris.

Enjoy the Clippers. From Shinn to Sterling. ElleOhElle

Send his arse to Minnesota for Luke Ridnour just so he has to freeze for a year.

Yahoo has another story about how it's good for the Hornets to shop him around

LINK

One of the more under-reported stories from 2010-11 was the way in which Paul tended to coast when his Hornets needed him the most. In February he averaged just 14 points and nine assists in nearly 39 minutes a game, often disappearing down the stretch of close games. In April, with David West(notes) out for the season with an ACL tear, he managed just 11.4 points and 9.4 assists in seven games.

Something i've been saying all along.

I see no reason to trade him to the Knicks for shitty players. Just keep him on the team and let him hit FA. If he's unhappy, I'm sure we'll see the "Empire State of Mind" version of CP3 that plays like dick, so we should basically be in tank mode anyway.

And this is why the NBA will never reach the popularity of the NFL.

i was just reading about the amount of money he would be leaving on the table if he goes to NY. He'll be missing out on around 40 million over about a 5-6 year span.
I don't think he's headed to NY

In a big market like NYC he'll make that back in endorsements and apperances.

I don't agree with the "don't trade him NY" mentality. If it is a choice between keeping him for one more year and then him leaving with nothing or trading him to NY, then I'd trade him to NY and at least get something. Landry Fields is a decent young player and we could take a couple of future first round pics. Billups would be a solid replacement until we get someone else. Maybe we can get them to throw in enough cash to pay some debt off and get prospective owners back interested.

And if they're serious about teaming him up with Dwight, is there any chance that they plan on kicking Melo or Stoudemire to the curb? Maybe something like that is in the works.

I just have a feeling if we do send him to the Knicks, there will be 3 or 4 teams involved...I mean there isn't anyone on the Knicks that I would want besides Toney Douglas & Landry Fields.

But we would need a whole hell of a lot more than those 2 dudes for CP3...Thats where the 3rd or 4th teams come in to play

But what do the Knicks have to offer those 3rd and 4th teams?

Demps is going to call his bluff. Knicks have no one to trade, so we will offer him the max deal, and once he doesn't sign, he'll play out the season and walk.

Are the 76ers still wanting to get rid of Iguodala?

Iguodala and Jru Holliday to NO
Paul to NY
Fields, Douglas, and Billups to Philly (shed Iggy's contract and Billups is an expiring)

LINK

This would only work if Philly is still seriously wanting to get rid of Iggy.

A 2019 1st round draft pick. I seriously hope a team will rent him for a year. In demps I trust.

WTF, why should he have to play the rest of his career in New Orleans??? If you had a chance to go to a better city, market, and JOB you'd also bail. Sheesh.

I also like Fields, but only as my team's 5th or 6th option. Also, his rookie contract expires at the end of this year (just like MT5's last year). I would be willing to bet that some GM will throw way too much $$ at him, so then we'd basically lose him, too. Also, the Knicks sent most of their (pretty worthless) picks to the Nugs for Carmelo.

If CP wants a different team, he's done the Hornets plenty of good over the years and I wish him no ill will. But he'd better open up to the idea of that different team not being the Knicks, unless he wants to spend a year in NOLA on a non-contender, and then take a huge cut in guaranteed dollars to team up with his buddies in NY next summer.
