I admit I have been away for a little while but how does Monty fall flat in Nola yet lead this Suns team to the number one seed this season and the #2 seed last year and runners up?

Was our front/back office that bad? Neither Nola nor Phoenix are a big market so what gives?

Maybe it has something to do with him learning from his mistakes after his first coaching job while learning and improving his craft as an associate HC and assistant in the 5 years since he was fired.

He was a young coach who got fired after making the playoffs and losing to a future dynasty in the first round.

Any other questions?

Monty should have never been fired. The first season he had sucess they canned him. It had never made sense to me

He was fired after pulling his wounded team to the playoffs. Look at the hires after him, Gentry and Van Gundy. That should say alot about the way the team was managed.

He was fired after forcing Loomis to make a decision with an ultimatum. If he could have found a way to keep working with Demps they might both still be here as crazy as that sounds. Loomis didn't have time to manage the Pels.

Also living through the tragic loss of his wife could change a person and how they approach life and coaching

Ever thought that “falling flat” was maybe more of a symptom of bad management and personnel selections by upper management and that he had success in the face of that shite show?
