They can be bought for approx $4B and moved to Tampa or Nashville and immediately worth $6B.
I am not going to lie. I am all about the New Orleans Pelicans, but if they suddenly relocated to Nashville I would still support. That may be one location where I would continue my support.

Forbes had the Lakers at a 7b valuation a couple months ago and they just sold for 10. The pels were valued at 2.5 or 3 in that same article. The pels might be worth 3.5 to 4 now.
That’s over 10x the Benson’s original investment. Gayle has absolutely no reason to be this cheap.

Bankrolling the Catholic Diocese of NOLA isn’t cheap given their recent financial issues.

Your house can be worth 10 million. Doesn’t mean you have endless money to spend. That 10 million only means something if you sell.

Why sell? They are already billionaires. What does selling one of the largest franchises in sports change for them?

Because they want to be a Powerhouse again and know the Dodgers owner has the tools and money to do it. Have you seen how Mark Walter has transformed the dodgers in a couple of years?

To Mark Walter no less. He owns the Dodgers and Chelsea F.C. as well as the LA Sparks. I’m a Dodgers fan so Ive witnessed his endless ability to spend which means they will have no issues paying the highest tax bracket, giving them even more talent. The rich get richer. Meanwhile we are the Oakland A’s without a Billy Beane.

Agree, Nashville is great town and would attract free agents. Make it happen Gayle.

Don’t look like Rita will be coming back to buy team anytime soon

This resets all NBA franchises approx 50% above current value and would put the Pels close to $4B.
Pels are only worth what somebody is willing to pay for them.
