Lol yeah that one guy who was tall that played basketball for the Brooklyn Knicks right?

Its BI.

Would a trade of BI to Chicago or some 3rd team interest you with Lavine and a first or 2 coming back ?

Reports are coming out that he had multiple deals in the offseason he was willing to take, Ingram killed the deals because he told the other team he wouldn’t sign an extension with them.
He also waited to long to try and move him, so that's another mark on his report card. BI should have been moved years ago.

Not at Lavines salary. He'd fit well as a really good sixth man (jamal crawford/lou williams/jordan clarkson/norm powell type), but is paid like he's all pro.

This franchise just needs a total reset top to bottom. Trade everyone and fire everyone.

frick that. Trading him back to the Lakers would be so embarrassing on our part and we would never hear the end of it.

Nope, but I did come up with an interesting 4 team deal for all teams involved.
Lakers: Ingram, Theis
Bulls: Zion, JRE
Jazz: Russel, Ball, Reddish
Pels: White, Clarkson, Rui, Collins, picks from Bulls and Lakers
Jazz don’t get any picks due to shedding 40.5 million in salary for next season, Pels are able to do a mini reset while looking to the draft this year, Bulls get a “star” next to Lavine to sell to the fanbase, Lakers get their pairing for AD post Lebron. Pels also get out of the tax.
Everyone is happy.

What kind of picks we talking because that looks terrible on paper?

At least 29 and 31 picks from Lakers, and a pick or two from Bulls.
On paper it’s really not a bad deal at all. Combine those guys with CJ and we would have around 90-100 million in expiring salary for 2025-26 season, although I think White is a guy you keep.
It does 3 things.
1) Allows us to tank this season (most important)
2) Gets us out of the tax for this season and next.
3) Gives us a shitload of expiring salary and picks to retool especially if we land Flagg.

Playing devils advocate :
Lavine is still a very good offensive player and plays a very efficient game .
You get picks for taking on the contract . A first or 2 with some protections .
Not a bad backcourt :
Murray , Jose
Lavine , Hawk
Trey, Herb
If I knew I could move CJ and Zion I would do it . I would not want to hamstring my team with bad contracts if Zion , CJ and Lavine .

Same playbook by klutch with AD. Trade request coming soon

An environment that he will only occasionally contribute to and will be mostly midrange shots.

No winning team will take him or have salary to match.
He’ll be in and out of the lineup all year and will walk at the end of the year.
But not before Griff gets some 2nd rounders in a sign and trade.

I think this is pretty dead on. It makes me wonder, why not just cut both Ingram and Zion right now?
It might sound crazy, but neither one has a guaranteed contract for next year. We are not getting a bunch of good picks for either. We will probably have to take back some bad longish term deals. Why not just clear the decks and get it over with?
We will still have some assets remaining. We can shop Murray and McCollum in the offseason. I like the youth we have, and this would give them a better opportunity to grown, without all the drama going on. I am surprised this hasn't been brought up more..
