Just to comment, two franchises that were both in the playoffs are highly considering Borrego as a HC. Meanwhile we seemed to abandon his offensive system after about 2 months.

You can cancel any trades to Cleveland now.

Why would that make a difference?

If the rumor is true that BI didn’t want to run his system here, then Borrego wont want him

With Bickerstaff gone, it means they're going all in on Mitchell. Garland and Allen should be realistic to acquire now.

Ah, that makes sense, fair point.

What system does BI like?

The only one he would want is "Give me the ball and I will move as slowly as possible and then take a midrange jumper"

Disagree. A Mitchell, Strus, BI, and Mobley is a really balanced lineup.

I think the point is that Borrego would want nothing to do with BI, and BI would want nothing to do with him.

seems like pretty much this. Or a “facilitating pg” according to him. I think it’s more so that Borrego knows this after a year with BI and wouldn’t want him compared to other teams.

Again. I disagree. Mitchell is the definitive #1. There's no gray area in this. BI will be able to play his game as a secondary ball handler and the mid range space works with that lineup of players.

The problem here has always been the team sending mix signals and doublong down on who is the #1 guy here. shite like that won't fly in Cleveland and the message will be clear.

I would agree, doesn't mean we wouldnt' be able to trade with them, just means it won't be BI goign to them. 3rd team would need to be involved that's all.

If for the sake of argument it is true that:

BI didn't like Borrego's system and that he essentially refused to run it

Why would Borrego sign off on him in Cleveland. He's going to tell them in the interview process "No, don't trade for him"

Its pretty well documented that for large portions of games and the season, the Pelicans did not appear to be running much of Borrego's system, like they did early in the year.

What if, for the sake of argument, those rumors are just grumblings of bored bloggers?

I know, I know. Bloggers know all, but let's just assume they sometime make shite up when rambling through another week or podcasts...
