You say you hate seeing this stuff but your engaged on a message board with me about it. If you dont like it, just ignore it. I aint mad. Theres an easy solution to your problem.

Yea if course but so are you by assuming Woj hasnt been lied to
That could be said about anything and everything…history proves that wrong as far as woj, among a few others, is concerned

You mean last year when he predicted the draft order completely wrong. Woj is usually right but also very careful with his wording. He always says AS OF NOW. Again even if media has discussions on it. They’re not wrong to have those discussions. Im assuming your point is why are people running wild with media assumptions? (If Im wrong let me know.) Because its not just all media assumptions. When there is this much smoke there is usually fire.

This all wrong…I enjoy this, doesn’t mean I believe ppl that are right have been lied to. Im assuming u just want Zion gone, n I’m not completely against that. But it don’t mean griff is ready.. ur getn red, relax. U asked another poster, who sees the same as I, to discuss his thought n I jumped in. We all from the same flock lol

And I completely get the smokescreen talk…it’s just that these discussions never got that far to need smokescreen.
*Haven’t gotten that far*

Couple wrong assumptions- first you’re taking this way too personal and taking shots on how Im feeling. Im not angry or red as you would say lol I am consistently using “lol” meaning im laughing while writing this. I think people think when someone opposes you they get mad- thats not true. I just disagree with you. Second, im not wanting to just get rid of Zion (something people automatically assume when you advocate for a trade). I just think due to his health, and getting Scoot this is a good opportunity to move on. I am honestly not mad at all. I enjoy debating its just when you debate and people are assuming im angry based off what I type its kind of silly.

Ok so we r on same page as far as personal attack…we are just same flock out here flockin..it’s just year after year I see these rumors prove false. U know what is smoke screen simply by where the info comes from. And Zions trade news continues to show the same.. reporters that are credible say one thing and second tier media/reporters write things over an assumption and run with it..Leading to more second tier’rs following with more.

That’s why I say Woj isnt the one being used as a smokecreen…he’s the credible one not wanting to ruin his name/voice

Yeah thats journalism nowadays unfortunately not just in sports either. I’ve gotten used to it but understand thats how it is nowadays and can be irritating as well.

Yea man media is becoming wOrse by the minute. Will say anything for clicks/views. It’s bad.
But back to pels, like I said I’m no longer a complete pro-Zion’r and if I’m gm I’m listening to all offer, putn him on the block tbh
But we can’t debate the ceiling Zion can take pels to/never been to. Pels are a Zion commitment step away from having pels in contention year in year out. My hope is all this draft trade talk finally makes it click with him.

Yeah I hope so but I feel like we will regret not trading him. But again lets see tomorrow will be a big day, either way.

I’m with that…to me, it’s less than 50/50 that it all works out but still worth it as a small market team that can’t get the free agents we want

It will be interesting to see how the new 2nd tax apron affects star distribution in the league. It pretty much kills the 3 max players or more super team. That's a big part of why trading one of BI/Zion is a conversation right now. If you're going to be limited to 2 stars, is having 2 unreliable stars a good plan?

Don’t forget all the protections pels have on Zions contract (past/more than weight clause). there are outs down the road if Zion continues to miss games.
Of course, We’d be losing trade value but have protected the needed cap space down road if griff forced to get rid of Zion for free.

They would protect the team some, but those protections are worthless to us fans. Don't quote me on the math because I haven't looked at this in a while, but it's close enough to make the point. He's guaranteed about $100 million after the 1st year. The team would get to stretch that out into a cap hit in the teens IIRC. So it would help the Pels stay out of the tax, but wouldn't give them enough functional cap or tax space to replace him with another max level player.
If the team has any significant doubt about Zion's durability or maturity, there will not be a better time than now to trade him.

I’ve yet to see protections..can’t find it. But was reported by woj and Bobby marks when zion signed contract and again Over last few days during trade rumor talk. But they say his contract, with protections, hold great value alone for team that would look to get get him. Said there are outs in place for pels regarding games played by Zion.
If U know where that can be read I’d love to see it

This.
Those clauses limit our exposure financially but that is just on his contract. Not, say, issues with trying to compete with $35m of star player on the bench.
If he can’t stay healthy and has not shown the maturity to start changing, his value as an asset is going to start seriously declining. If we shite or get off the pot now, we either go forward with him or reset our timeline by a few years.
Going half in half out means all our pieces get more expensive and our ability to get good draft picks declines considerably.

That takes me back to my prior post
man I’m still on fence either way..I wouldn’t be mad or de-fan because of decision. Although Im solid on that all this talk is for no reason…in that Zion ain’t going nowhere. Lol
Would leave us with a bunch of money and no one to spend it on…spinning our wheels with no talent and over paying to get 2nd tier guys to come to nola

If we end up with a massive TPE, we either can get a piece in exchange for picks and not having to send out players OR we can rent out cap space / roster spots to restock our warchest of picks.
