The problem with you twats on this board is that you're afraid of the great teams of the Western Conference. You think we are inferior from the get go. But let me let you in on a little secret: these one game tilts on a tuesday night in the winter aren't a 7 game series! Yeah in 7 there is no way this Pelicans team sans Davis (or hell, even with Davis) is suited to battle the strong Spurs, resilient Clippers, tough Grizzlies, sparky Warriors, or mighty Thunder for a week's worth of games, but by damn I'm not gonna stand for any of you frickers fearing the likes of the upper tier Western Conference. One game, on one random night in December we can beat any of those teams. It only takes one bad shooting night from them, one spot of form that's off the pace for the Pels to rise victoriously. Any Given Sunday to take a football cliche. Yeah, our Pels have their faults, but if you don't want to stand by them wholeheartedly you can frick off. I BEE-lieve in this team (oh shite, new team-wrong metaphor) and I won't have you caterwaulers rain on this season's parade before it's buried 6 feet under.

And Gyno, while I admire your voice of reason on this board at most times. I'd give 100 points a night to Taj Gibson, hell I'd let him shoot every fricking time, if it meant we came up with the W. Sometimes you just have to see if a team's 6th best player can beat you, and if he puts the team on his back and wills his boys to a win well frick me, right? But I'd take those odds any day of the week because more often than not that sucker's going to come up short.

Long live Monty and love live the motherfricking Pelicans!

I'm don't think it was good for us

Look at the Zach Lowe article about us posted on here today. We lost a lot of games early to bad teams that we can't afford to lose if we want to make the playoffs. Now we're going to have to win some games against teams like OKC, LAC, SA, etc. to make up for those losses to the Kings, LAL, Suns, ect

I simply do not value making the playoffs, when you have such a small chance of winning the title (you need a plane carrying the Heat to crash land on a train of Spurs and more), especially when the conferences are so unbalanced.

I look to other things that make me happy and upset.

Who was down on Anderson?

More than a few overreacted to a bad loss or two and the offense, saying things like Anderson wont fix a broken offense. As many have said, that's neither here nor there and the issue for this tean has ALWAYS been defense.

The competition has been weak, but I do think the product has looked better. Still PnR problems and major communication issues on defense, but I've seen tweaks to the scheme and better rotations. Hopefully they continue to grow..

This team is going to be the Mavs. All offense, no defense. The big differences are Dirk still being awesome, Marion/Carter are steady vets, and Carlisle is a top 5 coach.

I'm actually fine with teams feeding their Oneals and Gibsons on the block. Lower efficiency shot from a marginal player. Pels have been burned, but I think it will even out.

But you're right; they really need a 3rd big who can bang. Smiht is just not good enough to play more than 20 minutes or against frontline players. Never thought it would ve true, but they miss Steimsma.

Broski was the main one who didn't believe Anderson would make a big difference, I'll give him a pass though because he seems like a good dude

Ryan Anderson is one of the extremely very few players we had on this team before free agency began that had great value, a good contract, and would warrant considerable return value in a number of positions we considerably lacked.

It was not a retarded thought to use him for trade value.

How and for what we traded him will always be an unknown.

And considering what we got for him and adjusted our free agency targets, its silly to just sit here on the high horse cause anderson has busted loose finally for a few games. It's still yet to be seen how monty can put them all on the court for crunch minutes against various other teams rosters.

I didn't think it possible. You are the most annoying poster on this board by a mile, past or present. I shouldn't tell you this, because I'd rather you type out walls of text that nobody reads.

I love how it's totally fine for one side to call him overrated and say he wouldn't have made a difference in the first few weeks but now that we've seen otherwise it's not ok for his backers to say, "looks like some people overreacted."

I made a thread with stats the other day regarding team efficiency since ryno's return. Nobody wanted any part of it. So I figured this thread would be a bit more forward.

We still have only beaten bad teams since he's been back. I posted the losing streaks of the teams we beat since rynos been back a page back. Two teams we played above .500 beat us.so we have confirmed at full strength we aren't the worst team in the NBA. Things still need to get better to beat teams that have a pulse though. Hopefully this momentum gives us confidence to do so

The biggest thing is that Ryno has helped this team at the very least beat teams it should be. He's definitely made this team better.

I thought the post was fine. Sometimes, when the case is clear, there is not much to discuss.

I don't judge thread quality by comments, as that can give a false impression: No comments may mean there is no interest or there is no reply necessary.

I don't think anyone argued that ryno wouldn't make us better. That seems like an absurd statement if someone said that. I think most said he wouldn't fix all the defencies that we have which he's helped but not sure they are fixed.
And whoever wanted to trade rynois complete moron

Except that people did say that. Do we need to start bumping threads? There is a reason certain people aren't posting on this thread

Also the discussion didn't have anything to do with defense. It was mostly what Ryno brings to team and how he wouldn't change much bc he's over rated

I don't see the point in discussion of posters or post history, even if those posters don't offer the same courtesy. It leads to far more harm than good to do otherwise.

Focus on the team, and the board will take care of itself.

Nothing personal intended here.
