He is signed through 2016, so I aint got no worries with regards to him needing a max contract.

Hey maybe is starting Ryno and Davis also creates a mismatch instead of just thinking about how we would match up on D. Teams would have tough time stopping us. But we need scoring off bench and I know Davis can't guard big centers at this point in his development.

Yup, i'm not big on shaming people for past discussion, but a ryno trade is out of the question, even if AD and him both play the 4... AD is going to have to step up at 5 sooner rather than later

Were people really bad mouthing Ryan Anderson?

Not quite bad mouthing, but people were seriously underestimating what he brings to the team. He's an insanely good player, and has a rare skill set. He's been unbelievable thus far.

I don't think that many people said we'd still suck with Anderson back.

Its just concerning to see a coach so clueless on how to replace one player

Early in season before Ryno was back posters were saying how Anderson is one dimensional overrated player. No need in bumping threads. Nobody said he sucks but a lot said he won't help this team win or change the offense. Last year everybody was on his you know what and then he gets injured and everybody forgets he's a good player.

To quote myself the past month:

"Anderson = Spacing..."

"Just wait until Ryno starts raining buckets from deep."

"When teams have to account for Anderson's automatic shot from three, their PF can't clog the paint. This means Tyreke has more room to work with, Jrue has more room to work with, Eric has more room to work with..."

"We've all seen the magic Ryan's capable of...."

"When Anderson's back, and the floor spacing is 10000x better and Evans, Holiday, and Gordon can get to the rim that much easier you will see. "

"Many of you probably don't understand the game of basketball, but when you can't space the floor (like Pelicans can't sans Ryan) then teams with clog the paint with bigs so you can't drive easily- making you beat them with jumpers. Which is what teams have done thus far. So, no I'm not blaming this on injuries; I'm blaming it on THE injury- Ryan Anderson."

In conclusion, frick all the nega-pels who hated on Monty when he didn't have Anderson. 6-2 with the God of Floor Spacing ain't so bad now is it? I will be a positive influence on this board forever and I fricking told all you bitches that Tyreke, Holiday, and Gordon would go HAM with Ryan out there. Who's laughing now bitches? Hire me right now ESPN

I recall very little Anderson bashing, only some moronic support of the Anderson-Asik swap, which at the time, I could understand considering how bad we are on defense. I think people understand by now that Anderson brings more to our offense than Asik would to our defense. Besides, Anderson gives us a legit backup to Davis in emergency times like these, something most didn't consider at the time. Could you imagine us right now with Jrue, EG10, Morrow, Aminu, Asik starting? Ouch

It's not the people who bashed Anderson, because that was no one. It's the inept, wiseacres who clamored that Ryan's return wouldn't be THAT BIG OF A DEAL or WOULDN'T SOLVE THE PELICANS PROBLEMS. To those folks, I kindly bid ye frick off from this board forever

Actually, there's edent evidence that the rest if the team / system was willfully unchanged in Anderson's absence. The idea behind it would be to just install the system rather than lose a couple of weeks of installation time.

For example, when he returned, the rest of the team slightly increased their three point attempts, and Anderson's efforts were laid on top of that.

It may not have been the right call, but it seems to have been a good one.

No need for a witch hunt on Anderson deniers. Some were just dressed up trolls, others had legit concerns about defense.

I'm don't think it was good for us

Look at the Zach Lowe article about us posted on here today. We lost a lot of games early to bad teams that we can't afford to lose if we want to make the playoffs. Now we're going to have to win some games against teams like OKC, LAC, SA, etc. to make up for those losses to the Kings, LAL, Suns, ect.

Monty not changing the system one bit while ryno was hurt deserved every piece of criticism he got. I love ryno but even without ryno we shouldnt get run off the floor multiple times by bad teams, and lose to phx twice in a week. A coach should be able to adjust with the talent the pels have to not be one of worst in league when don't have his really good 6th man.

Ryno is playing at a max contract level. He's never played a 2 game stretch like he has in this back go back.monty didn't expect this typeof production. Tyreke is making his drives now which has been great which is helping ryno and Gordon spot up and jrue has been coming on.

But this team is about to be tested. We really needed to be at amuch better mark than where we are now.
Since rynos return we have played 2 teams with winning records and lost both with one being a brutal blow out.
We have proven to beat teams that's have a 9 game losing streak, lost 6 of 7, and lost 9 of 11.a team 4-15, and a team 5-12.

So it's nice we are finally beating teams we should but we are about to be tested in a huge way. Our soft part is behind us and we havebarely managed to be above .500

Sons, there is no doubting Ryno is a good player. I don't think anyone said he would make this team worse when he came back. It's a shame you fellas want to spin this into an "anti Ryno" type thing.

We are 6-2 with him. The combined records of those 6 teams we beat in that stretch are 30-70. So we are at least winning the ones we are supposed to now.

We are still getting abused by the likes of Jermaine O'Neal and Taj Gibson. Seriously, these guys are like the 10th option of their team to score. There is still a glaring need for defense, especially in the interior. We can still win games, but if scrubs like O'Neal and Gibson are popping off 20 a game, Ryno will have to keep scoring 30 for this team to stay in games.

Anyways, this whole back and forth is stupid. Whether it be a win or a loss, some wiseacre is going to come to the board in an attempt to tell someone else "I told ya so". This isn't what Peli Nation is about, sons.
