Any free agents that may be targeted, especially at Center?

I’m worried about the Center position. Mitchell Robinson and Jarret Allen have been mentioned in trades but I would love to go after Brook Lopez as a 3pt spacer and good defender. Ideally paired with one of those youngsters as he isn’t much of a rebounder. I’m not sure Okafor is the answer just yet and Lopez could be a nice vet to have in the locker room and cheaper than most. Hearing Bucks probably won’t be able to pay him enough to keep him. But I also see him taking a discount from the Bucks.
I don’t see Randle here next year playing alongside Zion at small ball center and the center position worries me.

If Lopez is our starter, Zions about to get 20 rebounds a game.

Dewayne Dedmon is the guy I want. He may just be the perfect guy to play next to Zion. His ability to protect the time and shoot the corner 3 is exactly what you need next to Zion.

Yeah, I think he's a good cheap option that can give you 20-25 minutes at center, which is all that I think the team needs. Zion can play center for the other 20+ minutes.

Y'all. Lopez doesn't pull down great individual rebounding numbers but his teams usually rebound the ball very well when he is on the court and do worse when he is off. He is great at keeping the paint clear for his teammates to crash the boards. Giving Zion as many chances as possible to grab a dreb and go (like Draymond) should be a priority.

Lopez would be nice, but I doubt they want to/will pay him.

Will not be the answers.

Big skills to put next to Zion: rim protection, stretch the floor on offense, mobility/switch ability, help on the boards.

Doesn't have to be (and won't if/when Davis is traded) one guy with all of these, but I'd target cheap bigs who can do some of these things and also some taller wings when I want to go small with Zion at the 5

28 min, 11 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks. Second game back from injury. Once we shed Solo's contract and we won't have Randle, I'd take on that contract for around $16-18 mil a year. Depending on which trade route we go with AD

Celtics:
Elfrid
Jrue
Tatum
Zion
Boogie
(Long and defensive 5)

Knicks:
DSJ
Jrue
RJ Barrett
Zion
Boogie

Cousins is way to butt hurt to ever consider coming back to the Pels, even with Dell gone.

There's some FA 5's out there that i'd like.
Robin Lopez, not Brook, is the Lopez that doens't rebound well but his team does when he's on the court.
Brook Lopez is also available and can shoot 3's, but is a terrible defender when it comes to being away from the basket.

There's two young rim protectors out there, but they may commmand a bit more than we want to give out.
Nerleans Noel
Willy Cauley Stein

Thomas Bryant is a young guy that was in Washington that was a pretty decent scorer down low for them. Not sure what kind of defender he is, or what he's going to command salary wise.

If we had the money, i'd love to get Valancuinas.

Some cheaper options, or at least i am assuming they will be cheaper are:
Ed Davis
Dedmon
Baynes
Javele
All of those guys have a high motor

Some smaller guys:
Thaddeus Young
Morris Twins
Taj Gibson (would love his grittiness)
Faried

Niko is out there but he is going to get a nice contract.
Poor mans Niko could be JaMychal Green. Shot 40% from 3 last year, and is at 37% in his 5 years in the league.

Do your homework, Teddy. Robin is better at it. But the effect is there with Brook too

We want high floor, low ceiling guys at Center. Guys that can be dependable and reliable to do their job, but low ceiling so they don’t cost too much. Center is the position we should be spending the least money on when the roster is fully constructed

I believe it was mentioned on the broadcast during one of the Bucks/Raps games, unless that was a podcast that I heard it on.

I want Niko as my C or at least the third big. He’s tough, plays defense, can shoot the 3, and likes it in New Orleans. He’s a prime target for me this offseason.

All 4 of those guys are going to be aggressive on the boards and protecting the rim, and they all know their role.
Yes i see high motors with all 4 them.

Ed Davis played only 18 minutes a game last year, and averaged almost 9 rebounds. 17.3 rpg PER36. That was 2nd in the league this year.

Niko will be the opposite of cheap. That is if you are trying to stay cheap at C.

Not trying to be that cheap. I would like to at least add a youngish vet that will help build a winning culture and actually wants to be here. That’s worth more than a young stopgap.
