Yes! I’ve been saying this. I would venture to say that next year this team will be the best pelicans team we’ve had the chance to watch.

Question:

Would you prefer the Pels also look to deal Mirotic/Jrue and start from scratch?

You think it made sense to stick with Haslett or Ditka until the end? Both were 3-13 in their last year. My memory of this is pretty fuzzy but I'm pretty sure Mora resigned because they wouldn't fire him and he knew if he didn't resign he'd be here another year. He was pretty much, this is a bad situation and I'm done. You won't end it so I will.

I was a child during those days so I don't really remember all that

I'm hoping they start to handle things the right way. But like I said in my original post in this thread, I'm not holding my breath

It depends on what they trade for. If they trade AD to a team like Chicago or New York with the #1 pick then it doesn't make sense to keep either. But if they get a package from Boston like Tatum/Hayward picks then you can be competitive right away keeping them. Next year could possibly equal or better any year in the AD era if Hayward were to round back into form.

Mirotic fine, but Jrue is a lot of Pelicans fan's favourite player. Totally alienate the fanbase if you get rid of the two most popular guys with one fowl swoop

No, keep Jrue, he is the heartbeat of this team and is locked up for awhile..

Unless we get an offer we cant refuse, I build around Jrue and Niko..

Trade Randle now for Brogdon and Maker

bad idea imo. from all accounts miro and jrue like playing here. If the Pels were to trade AD to, say Boston, for Tatum and some others (as one example), they could be decent right away rather than roll the dice in the lottery for the next few years. 100% rather trade Randle.

I can't believe that deal was actually on the table. They would have had to jump on it if it was. A guy you're likely to lose for someone who immediately becomes your 2nd best wing? If the rumor starts here how legit can it really be?

Send him, hill and top 10 protected first to the wizards for wall, beal and porter

If you can't follow a rumour back to a legit source, it was probably just that

That doesn't really make sense for this though. The new GM search should begin immediately so we are ready to hire one right after the season and have a plan in place.

lol. you haven't paid attention to how ownership operates the Pels.

there is NFL draft scouting first. then the NFL draft. then horse races. then NFL free agency. then, maybe, they think about the Pels.

wouldn't shock me in the least if Demps survives.

To be fair to Brooklyn, they’ve had an incredible rebuild without having picks.

I’d gladly take a few players and picks off them for Davis today.

Well, Maker asked out so it is possible.. If it truly was offered though, they shouldve jumped on it back then.. With Milwaukee looking to take a next step, they would make the deal..

With the right trade and tank job we could look like:

Ja Morant/Ntilikina
Jrue/Brogdon
Reddish or Barret
Niko
Porzingas and Okafor

Great core to build around, and could be exciting team for years to come

My personal answer to any question like this is....let the next GM make that decision.

Go through the most thorough and objective hiring process you can, one without unrealistic team expectations, and let that person make those decisions.
