14 double doubles in 49 games. That's a double-double in 29% of his games.

Interesting fact: Kevin Durant has only 1 more double double than AD23 this season. He is also tied with players such as Marc Gasol and David West.

Imagine how many he would have if Monty actually gave him playing time.

I wonder in how many games has he played 30+ minutes? I'd like to see his double-double percentage for those games.

In 19 games with 30 or more minutes, Davis has 11 double-doubles...57.9%

Those 8 games of 30+ minutes that he didn't get a double-double include:

25 points, 9 rebounds

10 points, 9 rebounds

8 points, 10 rebounds

9 points, 13 rebounds

13 points, 8 rebounds

...just speculation here, but I took his double-double percentage of 30+ minute games and applied it to our 64 games played.

So if he was healthy all season and played 30+ minutes every night, that projects to 37 double-doubles (which would be 2nd in the NBA)....doesn't quite work that way, but Davis will be a double-double machine.

Among all players who average less than 30 minutes:

He's 6th in double-doubles.

...8th in rebounds.

...5th in blocks.

...20th in steals.

Among PFs who average less than 30 minutes:

He's 2nd in double-doubles (8th overall).

...3rd in scoring (16th overall).

...3rd in rebounding (11th overall).

...2nd in blocks (4th overall).

...1st in steals (3rd overall).

Among rookies:

He's 1st in double-doubles.

...1st in rebounding.

...4th in scoring (last in minutes of the top 4).

...1st in blocks.

...1st in steals (pretty impressive).

Ya, this guy's a stud.

Lillard will be solid, but I don't see him making a quantum leap like AD could.

Definitely, Lillard is a lot closer to his ceiling than Davis is.

Lillard is also 3 years older than AD. He has played more basketball.

AD will be miles ahead of Lillard by the time he is 23.

The only difference is minutes...If AD was playing 36 MPG like Lillard is, he would be averaging near a double-double and would win ROTY.

...averaging 16 PPG and 10.6 RPG in his games of 30+ minutes.

Those numbers along with his draft status, defensive statistics, and absurd efficiency rating probably would have made him ROTY.

...Monty and the minutes cost Davis the award. Not complaining, just sayin.

Davis is still much more of a raw player right now, and that's not a bad thing at all. He is still developing many parts of his game, while he will also add more size. Crazy to see what he is already doing.

Lillard is an exceptional talent, and will be a very good player in the NBA for some time, but Davis' ceiling is much higher. I think he will be scary good.

I'm a lil surprised at his scoring. I shouldn't be since he was once a guard. But for a guy who gets basically no plays run for him, he can fill it up. He's got a nice touch.

It's sooo obvious to all of us how much of a game changer he is. It's just sooo mind boggling why he's been riding the pine in 4th qtrs this year. I just don't see how many other coaches would sit their best player (especially defensively) when the game in on the line.

me too...I think he has surpassed most expectations in the offensive department.

That deep jumper is what has surprised me the most.

He's an alley-oop and put back stud (mostly expected).

...His 7'5.5" wingspan is impressive...love his floaters and his quick catch and baby hook shots near the basket....incredible length and touch for a guy that's 6'11.

Once he adds a go-to high post and low post move and adds a little bit of strength, he will be tough to stop.

maybe, but he could also just wind up being a slightly above average/mediocre player.

His scoring numbers are nice, but he's playing 39 MPG and is 20th among PGs in FG% at 42.9%

Davis is on the superstar track for sure....Lillard, I don't know.

In Kevin Garnett's second season in the NBA he had 19 double doubles in 77 games, 25% of his games. And he averaged 39 minutes per.

AD's a beast...

I completely agree that AD is on superstar track, but so is Lilliard. Averaging 19 and 7 in his rookie season is pretty ridiculous. CP average 16 and 9 his rookie year, Westbrook 15 and 4 just to compare. Yea, he plays 36 minutes a night. But a lot of good players do. AD doesn't. Not sure why not, but that's just how Monty is using him. No point in knocking in Lilliard because he plays 36 minutes a night and AD doesn't.

And Lilliard is closer to his ceiling I Agee, but that's because he's 3 years older than AD. And it's really hard to compare a PF to a PG and saying 1 will be miles ahead of the other. Lilliard is already an adult compared to AD. His game will become more effiecnt and polished. AD will make a massive leap because he's still what 19? Lilliard won't make that leap because he's already past it. But he will become more efficient. I mean it is just his rookie season. I can't remember another PG in recent years average what Lilliard is averaging in his rookie year, except Iverson. Who averaged a ridiculous 24 points and 7 assists.

In a few years, both guys will be at the top of there positions and in the NBA. :

The thing with Lillard is that he will never be an efficient scorer. He'll probably put up 22 ppg in his prime, but it will be on 42% shooting. He'll always post high turnover rates because of how he plays, and I can't see his defense getting to a respectable level.

He'll put up "star" numbers, but he'll never be a star player.
