I’m sure he did that unprovoked because he’s just an awful person. ..... Or someone said something idiotic to him and flipped him off so he responded. Yeah that’s probably it. This is a non story

Hes gotta be better than that. Why look in the stands at all? Walk straight into the tunnel and remember you only have to do it 1 more game. Be a pro.

I lost all respect for him during All Star when he said that all 29 teams are on his list.

Good riddance Brow

He’s human. I’d likely respond the exact same way. Fans can’t just say and do things to players and not expect a response.

I lost respect for him with the way he handled this season. Stuff like this I couldn’t care less about.

I agree but it also depends on what they said. If it was anything racial that fan should be banned for life. If it's just a little heckling than that says more about him that he can't brush it off.

I think from the recent Boogie stuff in Boston (amongst other incidents) we know there are shitbag fans. AD acted like a baby during the trade request, but he’s sitting without complaint now and it’s naive to think the middle finger wasn’t deserved.

Naw. Fans are the ones that should be better. They act (SOME of them) like because they paid a few bucks to watch the game they have purchased the right to do and say what they want.

It's idiotic and if someone does or says something offensive and gets a reaction then to cry about it makes that person look like a fool.

I hate that some fans have that entitlement.

But still, he comes across as someone who does not take criticism well at all. Sports comes with heckling. people flip the bird at every game i've seen. He needs to get some thicker skin.

But why is this just accepted?

I equate people at sporting event that act a arse to be the equivalent to internet "keyboard commandos" Their relative safety from harm emboldens then to do things they would never do otherwise for fear of the consequences.

(byw I don't consider people who throw out offensive comments and gestures to be just hecklers) they are assholes. Good natured heckling is one thing but there's a line and these types of fans generally ignore it completely.

Agreed.

Players are supposed to have a thick skin to deal with this kind of stuff.

If he can’t handle what a fan said to him, how could he handle an opposing player telling him his girl’s pussy tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios?

I don't know, I guess everyone has their own line. It just feels like being flipped off is something easily able to ignore. There is certainly a line being crossed at these games that completely unacceptable.

Just feel like AD has been used to being praised for so long that he doesnt know how to handle it now.

Re: Anthony Davis flipping off a fan.

Talked to a few people about this. As AD indicated in his DM on Instagram, he was provoked before giving a fan the finger. NBA security is aware of the situation. Something along the lines of "F*** you, AD!" was yelled and AD responded.

Davis will likely be reprimanded by the league for the incident. Would expect that to happen either this afternoon or some time tomorrow.

It's not an AD vs. NOLA issue. He was high-fiving fans after he flipped off the fan. Just him reacting to what this particular fan said.

if it was just FU AD... he's got to let that slide and not react... I know it can be tough but he's got to
