Considering the injuries this team has navigated, 13-12 is a great start; things will only improve as the roster's health improves. Getting Hill back will complete the rotation, they will be two-deep at every position:
PG- Rondo/ Nelson
SG- Holiday/ Moore
SF- Hill/ Miller
PF- Davis/ Cunningham
C- Cousins/ Asik

In case of injury, Clark and Allen are proven. The Pels even have two upside players in Jackson and Diallo. The team doesn't have any glaring needs; a big wing player (6'9 at least) and a backup PF/C that can shoot the three would be nice. Neither of these deficiencies will keep the Pels out of the playoffs this year and can be addressed in the off-season.

I wonder, are the Pels are done making transactions this season? Ajinca's injury might have killed whatever trades the team may have made this season. If the team stands pat, I can't complain. The team is fairly balanced.

You need to include Cooke and Jones in the mix as well. Hopefully they can get at least 2 rotation players out of those 4 and it's not out of the question that all 4 can make it. And I agree with your general thoughts. The bets on Rondo and Miller have paid off enough that I don't see what moves they could make to improve the team considering we'd have to pay extra for sending Asik/Ajinca in the trade.

Cousins and AD can shoot well enough as bigs. I would like a bully down there that just gets boards and dunks.

I'd say the 13-12 is a good start, not great, but we should make up some ground this month and close the month out strong. We should be able to go into 2018 sitting at 20-16.
5 of the next 11 are against non playoff teams, and 4 are at home. Winnable homes games against the Bucks and Sixers at home, winnable road games at Denver and Miami.
Now is the time to create some separation.

I think a backup PF/C that can shoot the 3 would be a better fit than a bully who rebounds. I would prefer a player like Patterson or Mirotic over a player like Noel or Mahinmi.

Speaking of Hill, when is best case scenario he is back? I'll add 3 weeks to that to be realistic.

We saw some reports he's not supposed to be out as long as we originally thought. So maybe even as early as January.

I thought we were in a pretty good position at 13-12. Last night's loss really hurts - probably the most disappointing loss of the season for me. Yeah, it hurts to blow a 20 point lead against the Warriors, but Golden State gonna Golden State. Any team can beat any team on any given night, and there are games where you just aren't hitting and you know early on a loss is coming. But you just can't give away games like we did last night. Can't do it.

We played the first half of this season's games so far without Rondo, then another couple with limited minutes. Last night showed how valuable his presence is on the floor. We're also still playing without Hill, at a position that was already our weakest. Darius also had a very slow start to the season. We've also played the Warriors 3 times already. Yet we were still above .500 going into last night.

The team obviously has so much potential, and even with Hill still out for a lengthy period, things were starting to come together. Jrue has been playing well, E'twuan has been very solid, Darius is among the leaders in 3 %, Asik putting in some decent minutes, etc. Ian Clark finally showed something last night. We just CAN'T lose games like this though - especially when we easily control the game for the vast majority of the second half. This team is very capable of winning 50 games. The good thing is that despite our troubles, many other teams are snakebitten with injuries right now and they are keeping pace with us in the loss column. Despite all of our troubles, we're still only 2 games out of the 4th seed almost 1/3 of the way through the season. But every time the door opens, we slam our finger in the door.

You just can't lose games at home to shitty teams. No excuse for it.

Nope. Can’t do it. Pretty much all you have to do is win half your road games and 2 out of 3 home games to finish around 50 wins.
It’s not that hard.

Bad losses don't count any more than good losses. All it means is they have to balance the ledger by beating a team they shouldn't beat. Acting like this team is a lottery team after last night's game like some are doing is as silly as the people that acted like Jrue wouldn't score double digits ever again after his slow start of the season. This is a slightly above .500 team with decent health. At full strength and chemistry they might be a .600 team. Losing to Sacramento last night didn't change that one bit.

So I've heard January, Feb, March and April as possible return for Hill. after taking into account our luck & medical staff, I'm going to go with training camp '18

The original time table was 4-6 months (January - March) and they recently said he's "ahead of schedule" and might be back as early as February.

You’d rather lose these kind of games on the road. It is a frustrating loss considering we had been taking care of business agains bad teams, but as you said as a fringe playoff team we are going to lose some games we shouldn’t.

My biggest issue is that the offense (according to most I have talked to) went to shite without Rondo. I love Rondo, but him being that critical to the offense’s proper functioning is disturbing. It makes me want to move Jameer or Clark with a 2nd for more of a pure point guard backup.

MM has been beating the Low IQ drum for 2-3 years. Rondo literally has to push these guys to move every game and after he tells them it’s like “oh yeah, we should move around like we practiced.” Coaching will not solve what ails this team unless you mean a coach on the floor like Rondo.

Jameer would be fine if he could make a shot. He's shooting pathetic this year, and a lot of his shots are wide open.
