and the #5 pick to take a guy like Doumbouya (who I love)
What is it that you love?

Yeah I guess I haven't really understood what the Heat are doing since LeBron left. They seem to just be content to be mediocre until Riley can somehow get another top level FA to sign there.
They are an enigma to me. Their books are fricked for 2019-2020. No way they can pay the tax with the roster they have, but they also don't seem to want to really tank.
If I were them, I'd take a losing season in 2019-2020 and try to get a good pick and shed salary before going into 2021 where they won't have a pick. They will probably keep being a treadmill team on the bubble in the East with a mediocre overpaid roster though.

Has the want to play defense (projected to be an elite defender), he's developing a 3pt shot (shot 5/7 in his last game from deep), has the size and athleticism to play the 3-5 spots..
He has the potential to be Randle, but with ALOT better defense

A Jrue-Richardson-Brown-Tatum-Zion smallball lineup is intriguing to me:
5 ball handlers with enough shooting to keep defenses honest. Lots of athleticism and versatility. Every player can switch and guard the perimeter.
Another version of this I really like which probably works better is to route Smart and assets to Orlando in a package for Aaron Gordon.
Jrue-Brown-Tatum-Gordon-Zion gives you incredible size/strength/rebounding for a fast pace small ball lineup. Gordon also fits the Zion timeline a lot better, but I do like Richardson's contract and ability to create.

Taking him that high would scare me to death though
If he was at the kings pick in a potential celtics deal then sign me up

No way he makes out the top 8 picks...
He has the ceiling of Paul George, and it's very unlikely he will be a complete bust.. Those players dont last

I have been thinking only way we trade AD to lakers is if they trade Lonzo to suns or bulls and we get 4,6 or 7, kuzma and Ingram, and a future first. That honestly wouldn’t be terrible.

What could we get for the #4 and #7 pick?

If the suns throw in someone like bridges I'm interested

LAL: AD, Conley
MEM: Ball, Kuzma, Hill, #4, 2020 LA 1st
NOP: Ingram, Hart, #2, 2021 pick swap, 22 1st
We get Morant to pair with Zion. Memphis gets 2 guys that fit their timeline, drop Conley and his salary, plus get a future 1st, and all they have to do is move down 2 spots.. LAl gets 2 "stars" to put beside Lebron, with Conley matching LBJ's timeline.
That is literally the absolute first trade idea ive seen proposed that has AD going to the Lakers that I actually like. And I dont like it, I love it. Hopefully that woupd be enough for Memphis. I think you would have a really hard time getting Memphis to unload the #2 pick, but depending on their feelings towards the Ball family, that offer might actually get the deal done. Well done.

I don't mind that LAL trade either, but we would suck for a good 2-3 years with a lineup up Morant/Jrue/Ingram/Zion/whatever.
I just don't have any want for any laker player. Ingram isnt' bad, but i don't want him either. If we could turn Ingram/Solo into say Myles Turner, i'd be all for it. That would still leave us with a hole at the 3 somewhat. I still say Jrue can guard any 3 in the league, and Brogdon has done ok when he's had to guard Kawhi, so if you still went get him, and you let Jrue and Brogdon take the two best wing defenders, we'd be alright. Brogdon is 6'5" with a 6'11" wingspan, same wingspan as 6'8" Khris Middleton.
I could definitely get behind a core of
Ja/Brogdon/Zion/Turner with Jrue being the elder statesmen. We would still struggle for a while, but that's a serious contender in 4-5 years if Zion and Ja live up to the hype.
I would say it would be difficult to beat an AD haul of Morant/Turner/Hart/future 1st. I'd prefer Morant over Tatum, and i'd prefer Turner over anything else Boston has to offer. Would much rather the sure thing in Turner than getting 3 picks in the late teens. We can't just have a bunch of rookies running around. have to have some veterans with Jrue, even if those vets are still somewhat young like Brogdon and Turner.

I like that trade if we can turn Ingram into something like Turner or another wing player that fits. Ingram is too ISO heavy and wouldn't fit in the style of play the Pels want to run. He's also not a very good wing defender. That's not even speaking to the uncertainty surrounding his heart condition.

Well, the best thing with that trade is it would clear approximately 25 million in cap space, on top of the 15 million we are projected to have, so we would essentially get all that, plus 40 million in cap space to go after whomever we choose in a VERY good FA class

I'd love that even more. That starting 5 unit would be great in a few years and I'm perfectly fine being in the lottery for another year or two while we add a few more long-term pieces with elite potential to pair with that young core. I'd actually prefer to be in the lottery next year, if AD still wants to be traded. I was relieved when I read those comments from Langdon in his pressor where he said we were gonna do things the right way without skipping steps or cutting corners. Finally think we may do a long-term rebuild which the only sensible plan if AD still wants out.

Jesus, do you think Griffin has pictures of Jordan and Sarver kissing??

Give us kuzma and Memphis gets hart and maybe that would be worth considering

Only way this works is if the Suns and Hornets get like 20 first rd picks from now until 2060
