Well, they ARE friends, and lots of NBA players workout together not on the same team. I'm assuming this is in LA.

I don't want AD back, but i have a feeling he will be back. Pretty much everything we've done thus far has been a big positive for him, especially the trainer.

I don't want AD. I want to take the talent AD has, trade it and spread it across other positions while acquiring assets to support griffins vision.

I still think it’s a long shot, but why wouldn’t people want him back? If he comes back, he will have signed the extension and will be all in. I’ll take his talent all day and let Griffin figure out the surrounding pieces.

Take out the emotional component, and AD staying is the best option on the table.

...but even typing that for me was VERY hard. Too much damage was done. And I can't feel comfortable and be expected to trust him anymore.

Is it?

I'm not sure that it is. In fact, I don't think it is at all.

I don't see it anywhere either. Checked Pels, AD, Jrue, and Coach Mike G.

I prefer AD to getting raped in a trade. We were just in the playoffs last year. I still think the problem is Gentry, but Im fine keeping AD if he wants to sign the extension. Also AD on a max contract should have more trade value than AD dictating certain teams he wants to go to.

I prefer getting a great trade than keeping AD.

agreed he's a bum

That's the conventional wisdom, but he will also have a MASSIVE contract, and the way the NBA works, someone will either need to be able to absorb that contract into space (virtually impossible at that size), or send out corresponding salary. Some of that salary, one would imagine, will be bad.

If AD comes back the team still lacks a Alpha/Leader/Closer/Whatever you want to call it. I don't see how they can add that missing component in the short term without winning the lottery. Will AD and Klutch really give Griffin time to build?

agreed. I'm just ready to move on. The bridges have been burned.

Yes, I know once you have a superstar you hold on for dear life because its so hard to get another. But is he really a "superstar"? To me, I'm really starting to wonder if AD's stats just look great but he is completely empty calories. Can you win with a player like him as your best, highest paid player?

A player like him soft as charmin tissue? One that needs others to create for him in order to succeed.

I kind of don't think you can. If the right deal isn't out there maybe you don't do it. But I would actively pursue it that is for sure.

"Batman"s are hard to find, and usually very expensive.

Paying 50mil a year for a robin would be a massive mistake

I can not think of one team in any sport that traded their superstar for a number of assets, and those assets providing equal value.

I hate what AD did and he totally sabotaged this season as a result, but you keep your Superstar if he is willing to jump on board with the new direction.
